Topic: What do you do for a living?

Im curious to see what everyone ha been up to; I've been going to school full time and working for various firms ranging from News to Military Contracting. All of which I've hated.. at this point im considering different radical options about what to do.

I work full time for a smaller company doing IT (more "Help Desk" sort of work), Marketing, and Purchasing.I am also going back to get my Master's in Business Administration. I completed about 50% of the program and should be done by December 2010. Then, it will be back to hunting for a better job.

I'm an accountant at a small public accounting firm. I do audits, reviews, and some tax planning/prep. I've almost fulfilled the requirements to sit for my CPA exam.

Let's see. I just started taking courses to become a medical transcriptionist. I mod an active trading forum. On Mondays, I take my two step-kids and their friend to Karate. On Tuesdays I take T.J. to boy scouts. On Thursdays I take them to visit their mom. Sundays I take them and four other kids to Awana. So.. I guess you can say I'm a taxi.  I'm also a cook (dinner, my house, almost every night) As well as a Personal Shopper (clothes, food, household stuff) A dishwasher a referee a warden (believe me, it SURE seems like it.) a mediator a housekeeper a babysitter a nurse a secretary ("I'm sorry, Amala is doing her homework, can I take a message?" "Jaime, you need to type this up for me!") An accountant a therapist ("Some girl in school said that I needed a new haircut, more makeup, crest whitening strips and to stop dressing like a boy!  ") a tutor ....among many other things. That's what I do for a living. Thanks,

So in short, Jaz, you're a housewife in school? More work than I would ever want to do  I'm still floating around trying to find something to do with my life. I mean, there's a few things I love but I don't love any of them enough to do them for a career. For now, I work weekends at a pizza place while I figure out how I'm going to pay for school and what, exactly, my major will be. My current declared major is a dual bachelor's in marketing and management.

Seems like your job would be to analyze potential business ventures for a specific segment of your company.

By title, I'm a computer programmer for a small county on the Oregon coast. By duties, I'm a programmer, SQL DBA, Exchange admin, tech support, communications specialist and who knows what else. On the side, I have an ATM machine at the local DMV that I keep filled. Not a lot of money, but $100 a month for a total of maybe 20 minutes of work isn't a bad deal. I also help Nderwife with her paper route on weekends, but that's more her deal than mine.Bannination of bad MOTLers is just a hobby. __________________

full-time internet hero. I'm anything in between a conceptual/interaction/visual designer and a photographer. I don't ever sit still or make the same thing twice. By the time I'm wrapping up one thing, I'm already knees deep with three other projects. __________________

i've worked for years in marketing and in the restaurant industry. After getting laid off from my job a year and a half ago I started selling my personal collection and have since (as of about a week ago) opened my own mtg retail site.I'm also in the process of starting a business partnership with a friend for a business networking and computer support company. We also have about 10 business projects planned for the near future (over the next 5 years) that we plan on starting and then selling off. I'm currently going back to school part time and plan to go full time starting next fall to finish my degree. My career goal is to run a marketing consulting firm with a unique strategy not currently being used anywhere I can see.

I work as an electrical line technician, which is basically installing and maintaining power lines. I work for IBEW union 876 which is based in Grand Rapids.Unfortunately, I have been laid off since June, so I sit around and do nothing on unemployment... stupid economy. *wants to go back to work :-( *

Mailroom work at an office building.I do everything from keeping track of incoming ups/fed ex to keeping a log of outgoing usps certifieds. I dont deliver mail. Oh did i mention i run and maintain an IRS mailroom

If you're willing to relocate, you might want to contact Hemlock Semiconductor just outside of Saginaw. They've been expanding quite rapidly and I bet they could use some electricians...
