I was pretty confident that either Gawain or Zakman86 was a troll but I couldn't figure out which one it was since IMHO both players were playing like they were trolls. Gawain's answers during round 2 were very suspicious, but Zakman86 didn't help himself AT ALL especially considering how smart he is and how little analysis he offered at the time.

I was pretty confident that somebody voting for Tranderas or Tranderas was a troll. The only possibility for Tranderas being a troll was if Gawain was a troll and if Zakman86 was a troll then that would have probably cleared the other two players. Again, I couldn't figure out which one was a troll (and I didn't think Tranderas was a troll during round two and I fell asleep too early).

I actually was paying attention to the NKs. My theory was that taking out Liq doesn't make mathematical sense if there were 2 experienced trolls because they shouldn't have been fazed by his entrance. I did note that you were hacking the better players but I didn't mention it because caring about the strength of the players being killed was all WIFOM - it actually made my job a little easier anyway.

I was not suspicious of ryan2754 during my last day. It was a terribly conceived ploy to get him to come out and possibly save himself, but I can't change the past.

Near the end of round three, I thought that Zakman86 and Bernek77 were either both trolls or neither one was a troll. Once Bernek77 put his vote for WCFmo in, I strongly thought that Bernek77 made a sacrifice play and that Zakman86 was obviously a troll with him - thus the suspect list I had generated during my last day. If I would have gone down the Gawain path, I was thinking that the trolls would have been either OGB/MAB/MM and either Trand/hili.

Zakman86/Tranderas - if you feel that 2 of the players in the MAB pile are trolls, you should be almost auto-voting for the other player. Your initial votes should have given it away that the split was indeed 2-1 and so the obvious play should have been to vote for the other player.

Summing it all up, I incorrectly chomped on the wrong path and I played a game that I thought just wasn't good enough on my end. I would also like to apologize to ryan2754 and I hope that I haven't offended you.

first of all, i STILL don't know what WIFOM means.

Secondly, I didn't want to vote for Zak at any point in the game. I went out of my way NOT to do that. Our chat rivalry is fairly well known and voting for him would have made it look like i was childishly fueling that rivalry (which is something i used against him, in my own defense) and would have brought suspicion to me at worst, both of us at best.

WIFOM is Wine In Front Of Me, referenced from the scene in The Princess Bride where the protagonist and the "world's smartest man" have a battle of wits involving poisoned wine. You can just google it or check wikipedia for a more detailed breakdown, but the non-tl;dr version is that WIFOM applies to any argument that is based on supposition instead of logic and fact. People will call an argument WIFOM for any number of reasons, but more often than not it's to trivialize/deflate the value of what the other person is saying; it COULD be this or it COULD be that, but there's no way to know for sure so it doesn't matter, or something to that effect.

Some people dismiss WIFOM arguments out of hand, and others try to pluck some useful info or insight from them. It's kind of up in the air (in my opinion) amongst this particular group whether they're useless or not. Acknowledging that your point/argument is WIFOM as a disclaimer or precursor to making the argument can oftentimes buy it a shred of credibility that it would have otherwise sorely lacked.

Gawain...that outburst about what I sed about you been coached was that a play acting or were you really upset lol....I thought it was funny but i wasnt sure if you were just playing thats why I was like "Hmmmm" as for the statement of coaching...wont happen again good game.

Dakrum....the only thing that you did wrong imo is the self vote....that is very frowned upon...when you did it I immediatly thought back as everyone knows we dont do this ....I assumed you knew and were just making a play as a troll...to gain everyones trust...my bad Im sure the point of the strong players been lynched was made...early on. How that would be WIFOM is curious...Im sure if you made a clear point stated what you posted here would have made actual sense in the game...

I think if any player from here on in is going to be absent from the game come back apologize lightly and put forth your theory dont come with a shabang of excuses and RL issues...

WIFOM is Wine in front of me, I feel this term gets misused quite abit...

"But that's just what he wants me to think, so I'll do the opposite. But maybe that's what he wants me to think, so I'll not do the opposite. But maybe that's what he wants me to think..." and so on....

ryan used it tho he was a MOTLer he stated it "Fwy, I am not DUMB enough to kill dakrum after having a feud with him. Plain and simple. It seems like instantly after the kill, you wanted to jump on this. It's really suspicious."

tho I used: "why would I do that?" lol

Dak, I have thicker skin than that. I do so much enjoy defending myself. It's the fun in the game.

What ploy dak, can you explain it more?

Sorry MM, when I got my chance to be vigilante, I found something suspicious with everyone except Gawain (good game). I sat in my room looking at the list of players debating on who I wanted to pick. I was *this* close to picking Trand or OGB, mainly for relative silence to get rid of it. Fwy and Bernek were an idea too. I mean everyone had done something suspicious.

I then went with my gut, and picked MM.
Knew he had a role, but wrong side. Fudged it up because I knew then someone would go back and see who I was suspicious of. *Sigh*

I really wish I wouldn't have been so worn out from work to post more... looking back, I see something that may have nailed at least one Wolf.

Trand, you nailed 3 straight IRC Chat regulars. That in and of itself should have been a red flag to me, but I never said anything because I hardly ever posted. Then again, I was tunnelled on you from the start... I just had that feeling.

I wouldn't call coolio a "chat regular" yet I didn't even make that connection. I just nailed the 3 best players in the game. I would have continued to note that, if chat was so important, you would have told me about the game early on instead of waiting for thror to make an offhand comment about it.

OGB for not receiving a single vote, definitely.

I honestly only skimmed the threads for questions I needed to answer, so I couldn't really nominate a Regular.

Ok - that makes sense to me. This is something I think Zakman86 should have mentioned. However, it's all my doing because I didn't mention that I was trying to specifically figure out who in your voting pile was a troll.

When I died, these are the percentages I came up with (this is simplified quite a bit so that it is easier to understand). If I would have went the other way, I would have 65% Gawain, 55% OGB, and 50% Tranderas.

65%
Zakman86
Bernek77 (both or neither)

45%
OGB (fits in both tracks)

35%
Gawain (100 - Zakman)

30%
MAB_Rapper (fits in both tracks but I wasn't as suspicious of him as OGB)

20%
Tranderas (other players in the vote Trand/Trand pile)

15%
hilikuS (seemed more MOTLer like than Trand)

10%
ryan2754
MeddlingMage (strongly thought he was the admin)
fwybwed (obvious setup for a lynch)

I thought ryan2754 was an MOTLer since round 2. However, I was extremely concerned that the game would end with ryan2754 or myself being policy lynched - thus, I thought that we actually had only one true lynch left to use. Thus, I threw together some obviously bad logic in order for ryan to create a defense for himself so that he could avoid being a policy lynch thinking that it would clear him and get me NKed. Of course, I forgot to mention my true "track" intent and didn't post that I didn't think ryan wasn't a troll in time so that ended up being a total waste since I went down the wrong track.
