Are you a big sports fan? If so what sports?Favorite Team? Have you ever been to any sport events? Were you ever involved with sports in High School or college?Do you think players in all four major sports are overpaid and should only be given raises based on past performances?

1. What one piece of advice would you like to share with others to help them be more successful or be happier?2. What failure in your life have you experienced that you feel is important to have lived through to help you grow? 3. What would you like to do right now that is just outside of your reach because of one thing (money, people, other resources)? 4. Aside from server/forum/site changes, what is one thing that you would like to see changed about MOTL? 5. What is something that you feel that you are better than most other people at doing?

Favorite food?Ten favorite movies? When did you get into Magic cards and who/how did you get involved? Are we (America) going into a depression? Where do you see the future of America's economy and general state heading and what could be done, in your opinion, to better it? 1) So hard to choose just 1. Survival of the Fittest, Astral Slide, Meddling Mage, Capsize, Demonic Tutor to name a few. 2) I would say Black. If you ask my friends, they would say it's Blue though. Necropotence, Pox, Demonic Tutor...the list goes on. 3) My favorite Magic deck of all time is a tie. The aforementioned Astral Slide and Recur/Survival. I played those decks until my friends couldn't stand them anymore. I even went so far as to start foiling Slide out. I have since traded off my Savannahs but still have all the other stuff. 4) Legacy. By far. I don't have to spend tons of money to play it because I already have most of the cards, since I started playing around Revised. 5) Bring back mana burn! No real reason other than it was an original rule. Eldmari's Vineyard. Players that float mana "just in case" and then don't have to use it. quote: Originally posted by mattw: Maria Kirilenko or Bar RefaliAlso, what would you do? Dinner, movie etc.
I'll admit I had to google both of them, so if I had to choose 1 it would be Maria Kirilenko. Something about Russian tennis players named Maria  Probably whatever she wanted Now had you said Maria Sharapova and Gwen Stefani, I think the universe, as I know it, would have asploded! quote: Originally posted by LA3: Are you a big sports fan? I am a HUGE sports guy. Football-Jets. Baseball-Mets. Hockey-Islanders. Basketball-Bulls/Knicks. I have been to 1 hockey game. It was Islanders/ Rangers at MSG. I have never been to a basketball game. I have been to a few Mets games, although none at Citi-Field. I also have been to 100+ Jets games in the 80's and early 90's when my Dad was a season ticket holder. Nothing like it. By far my favorite. I played Varsity Baseball (CF/SS). I also was the starting 2 guard for Varsity basketball (Averaged about 14 points or so.) I think that players are grossly overpaid to play a game that some people would play for free. I believe that if a player thinks he has out-performed his 1st contract, that's too bad. You signed the deal. Would a player go to his team's owner or GM and say, "Gee sorry boss, I really didn't play well last season so I don't need all this money" Or "So I was injured for most of the year so therefore I can't accept all this money". No. ~MM __________________ I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion, 2007 Captain N award winner, 2010 Marlboro award winner, and 2011 Champion Tournament Pick'em MOTL NCAA Bracket Challenge winner!CM Punk "OMG Kevin Nash WTF, thought he was dead, LOL" New keeper of the Logout button

1. Do what you love, and love what you do. If you can't, then why bother. Be it your social life or professional life. If you don't enjoy it, then why do it? 2. I would say that coming from a broken family (parents divorced when I was 2 or 3) and not having stable parental figures in my life, helped me become a good, if not great parent. I coach a variety of sports for my kids' teams...from basketball to soccer to baseball to softball. 3. I am pretty happy with where I am in life (except financially), but if I had to choose, it would be to play more poker (casino/tournaments/professionally. I believe that I am a pretty good poker player but real life prohibits that from becoming a reality. As well as a lack of bankroll. 4. More active Mods. (no disrespcet to nder, Jaz and Slinga, but there is a lot to handle for just 3 people. Also, UBB games played the way they used to be. 5. Being a parent, hands down. It may come off as arrogance but it's the truth. When I had kids, I said to myself "these kids are going to know who their father is/was." That is why I do the things I do and am very active in my children's lives. When I'm gone, I want them to have fond memories of me and all the things we did together. People always say how tired I look, and I tell them that I am tired by choice. quote: Originally posted by JoshSherman: Do you have advice for young married couples who are going to be starting a family in the next couple years?
Be ready for anything. When you become a parent, in order for it to be as rewarding as it is for me, you have to live for the moment. Enjoy the small trivial things that may be unimportant to you, but means the world to a little one. Make decisions together. Share everything. Respect one another and do things together that you both enjoy doing. Then when you finally do have that first child, name him Eric ~MM __________________ I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion, 2007 Captain N award winner, 2010 Marlboro award winner, and 2011 Champion Tournament Pick'em MOTL NCAA Bracket Challenge winner!CM Punk "OMG Kevin Nash WTF, thought he was dead, LOL" New keeper of the Logout button

Quick off-shoot...1) How are you a Bulls and Knicks fan? 2) Are you Chris Pikula? And if not, say he wanted to join MOTL and wanted your username. Would you give it up? Or would you hold out for something like the fans that catch home run balls? If you're holding out, what would it take to give up the name? __________________ PMs don't work in Chrome or Firefox 4.0+, see HERE for work arounds.

Mexican. By far. Boy 10 favorite movies....In no particular order: All Star Wars movies All Indiana Jones movies Dogma Friday Baseketball Bourne Trilogy I was at a baseball card convention (1994) with a friend and this 1 booth had a rather large following. When I made my way to the front people were playing a game and there was cards everywhere. Curious, I bought a pack (FTR these packs were Revised). I pulled a Volcanic Island. I bought several more packs and headed home. A couple of us played and read rules and so on. A different friend came over 1 day and saw cards sitting on a table. He says, "you play Magic?" The rest is history. I'm not much of a politics guy. I believe that no matter who is president, there is still the same bunch of idiots pulling strings behind the scenes. As far as a depression, I don't really think so. We need to keep jobs in America. I believe that the rich get richer and middle class and lower (poverty) suffer. State aid requirements are a joke. People abuse the welfare system and hard working people have to pick up the tabs. No more of this hand washing the other crap and everyone gets an equal opportunity. I'm sure there is more but like I said, I don't do politics. quote: Originally posted by Philip papas: do a trade with me? need some new york love in my life
Sure, check out my list and make me an offer quote: Originally posted by CubFan81: Quick off-shoot...1) How are you a Bulls and Knicks fan? 2) Are you Chris Pikula? 1) When I was a kid, the Knicks drafted Patrick Ewing. Growing up on Long Island, it was easy to be a Knicks fan. I remember checking out the sports pages daily to track them and Ewing. When I got older and started to play more basketball, I discovered Michael Jordan. I was amazed at the things he could do. When they started to get better and better I followed them more. Then when the Knicks-Bulls rivalry started, I came to detest the Knicks. I have tons of Bulls and MJ memorabilia in my man cave. After Jordan retired, the 3rd time, I stopped watching for the most part. My oldest son is a NJ Nets fan (no idea why ). HE started watching more and more games. After awhile I found myself watching basketball again and MSG network carries Knicks games. It started out as just having it on for background noise, to me actually starting to cheer for them, to becoming a fan of them, again. Now I watch for Melo and Stoudamire. 2) No, I'm not Chris Piklua. No, I wouldn't give it up. People around these parts refer to me as MM. Even if they see me on FB or other outlets. If I had to change for whatever reason, I would probably choose EricTheGreat. ~MM __________________ I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion, 2007 Captain N award winner, 2010 Marlboro award winner, and 2011 Champion Tournament Pick'em MOTL NCAA Bracket Challenge winner!CM Punk "OMG Kevin Nash WTF, thought he was dead, LOL" New keeper of the Logout button

Being a Mets fan, are you also a Yankees fan? Also, you realize the past few years have been their comeuppance for 1986, right? Just kidding about that. It's weird for me to think about reversal of fortunes the other way since I was used to my teams being bad/ not good enough as a kid. Do you think they may be on the right track for success now, or are they a ways away because of how tough the division is? I have a niece who is about a year old. I've noticed that everyone else is a lot more interactive with her than I am. I pay attention to her, and try to play with her, but I think I treat her like she's a little older than she is. I'm worried (terrified, actually) that the same thing will happen with my children. Is there any advice you can offer for that? Aside fron "don't" of course

No, I don't like the Yankees. I don't dislike them either. In fact a friend of mine bought me a yankees hater hat lol. It's proudly on display in my man cave. I think that as long as the Wilpons own the team, nothing good will come of it. Terry Collins is a breath of fresh air, but they are broke, broken, and have no farm system. It is a lot different when the kids are yours. Trust me, you just know how to act. Everything changes. To quote the great Ferris Bueller "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. " Enjoy every moment you can and make sure to share all the responsibilities with Lindsay. quote: Originally posted by MasterWolf: Did you know it was your draft pick?
