1. What one piece of advice would you like to share with others to help them be more successful or be happier?

2. What failure in your life have you experienced that you feel is important to have lived through to help you grow?

3. What would you like to do right now that is just outside of your reach because of one thing (money, people, other resources)?

4. Aside from server/forum/site changes, what is one thing that you would like to see changed about MOTL?

5. What is something that you feel that you are better than most other people at doing?

Favorite food?

Ten favorite movies?

When did you get into Magic cards and who/how did you get involved?

Are we (America) going into a depression?

Where do you see the future of America's economy and general state heading and what could be done, in your opinion, to better it?

Peace,
Jesse

1) Favorite Magic card?
2) Favorite Magic color?
3) Favorite Magic deck?
4) Favorite Magic format?
5) If you could make or unmake any one change to Magic what would it be? Why?

Bonus: When people are asked "if they had a time machine" type questions, which event do you think gets changed the most often and which event do you think would be a more interesting one?

1. Just take a breath, and relax. Don't bend yourself out of shape over the little things in life. They aren't worth your energy, emotion and time. Too often I see people in a ****ty mood all day because of a little bit of traffic on the way to work, or some other little insignificance.

2. I can name two...
First, in high school, I did not apply myself to anywhere near my fullest abilities. I enjoyed dicking around and all that, but in hindsight it just wasn't worth it. While I still managed good grades, I was not able to get the amount of scholarships and financial aid to make furthering my education easier on myself. I took out almost 20k in loans for my first year of school (I went to a pretty prestigious tech school) and along the way decided it was not worth it. I dropped out and took a few years off.
This leads into the second failure - during this time off, I did not manage my money well. I ate out all the time, I bought many DVDs, CDs, video games and other rather frivolous items that I really didn't need. There were a couple other parts that weren't totally my fault (a deadbeat roommate, and my fathers funeral), but it was mostly all on me. I fell behind in repaying the above loans. I ran up some credit card debt. I got Direct TV and didn't pay the bill. Some really dumb **** on my part.
These two failures I think led to me being a more responsible person. I guess I kind of had to grow up myself because I was never close to either of my parents and they never hounded me in school, or taught me any kind of fiscal sensibility.

3. Correcting the above failures. College is quite expensive, and I'm finding my credit score is difficult to repair since no one will give me any line of credit (loan, card).

4. I get that it's a family site, but I wish the rules were more lax. I'd like to swear (and not be censored) a bit on occasion. And I guess more activity in GD as well.

5. Math and physics, my job. Staying calm.

Food? Pretty much everything. I'm a bit of a garbage disposal, and thankfully my metabolism keeps up. Running helps too. In particular, I like pasta and plain tomato sauce. I make it all the time. When I go out, I usually find myself getting a steak or a burger.

I'm going to lump trilogies/series together for favorite films.
In no particular order...
Star Wars (even the prequels)
The Matrix (even the sequels)
Lord of the Rings
Indiana Jones (even the Crystal Skull)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Transformers (animated and non)
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
Anchorman
Harold and Kumar go to White Castle

I started playing in middle school (1996-7). A kid who just moved to town and started school with me that year taught me how to play and got me into it. I did have some cards from who knows where prior to that, but that's when I actually started playing.

Don't think we're going into a depression. I have no crystal ball, but generally, I'd say we're headed for a rebound...the market usually goes in waves over the years, doesn't it? Stopping exorbitant defense spending and funding wars abroad, and funneling that money into the economy at home would be a good start. Where exactly, I don't know. Alternative energy, improving public education maybe. I'm also in favor of legalizing and regulating marijuana, which I think would help the economy.

I no longer play, save the occasional booster draft on MTGO, so these answers may be severely dated. I last played competitively prior to Urza's Legacy.

1. Eldamri's Vineyard
2. Green
3. I like anything green. The decks I used, save a short period with Suicide Black, were all green. The three I remember were - First, utilizing the vineyard, spikes and stampeding wildebeests. Use the wildebeests to cycle the spikes after you move all but one counter off them. The extra mana from 3 vineyards would sometimes be enough to mana burn people to death. Second was again, utilizing the vineyards and any other green mana acceleration to cast 3rd turn Force of Nature, or 4th turn Verdant Force, or some other big green beast. Third was just cheap green creatures.
4. Booster draft.
5. Make it cheaper to play/be competitive in.

Bonus.
I feel like most answers I see relate to WW2 and going back to kill Hitler prior to his atrocities. With the coming generation it may shift more towards preventing 9/11. As for a more interesting option...there are plenty of things I think would be more interesting to
witness, but any change to the past is going to have vast implications on the future which would make any instance quite interesting for myself.

Is it really all about the game and how you play it?

Given a choice between putting a toothpick under your toenail and kicking a brick or having to bite down on a nail file really hard while someone pulls it out with very high acceleration, what do you choose?

What is your opinion on the ecological cost of consuming meat?

Kittens or puppies?

No, the hokey pokey is what it's all about.

I think the nail file in between the teeth. It makes me cringe less while thinking about it.

Since most of the meat we consume comes from farms (more and more of which are becoming "responsibly raised") I think the ecological impact is diminished quite a bit from where it formerly was. And unless it were drastically endangering the future of humanity, I really don't think I'd care because meat is delicious.

Tough choice...I like dogs more overall, but puppies are such a pain in the ass to train. I got my first dog at the end of March and while I love to the dog to death, it is much harder than I imagined it to be. He does have plenty of moments that make the difficulties worth it. But with a kitten, you show them the litter box a few times and they're pretty much all set. Then it's all just playing and cuddling! I think kittens, but just barely.

I'm not entirely sure cats/kittens are that easy. A friend of mine has two and at least once a week one of them just decides to not use the litter box and goes on top of it (its one of those covered ones) or in the bathroom on the mat or in the kitchen by the radiator or you get the idea.

What kind of dog did you get?
Name?
Any tricks yet?

I've grown up around cats all my life, and other than one who was dying, I've never had problems with them not using a litter box. Occasionally they'll thrown up and I'll have to clean that up, but it's quite infrequent.

He's a 9 month old Pomeranian named Mooshu. He's pretty good with sitting, giving his paw and that kind of stuff. No fancy tricks. He does do this one thing me and the wife find hilarious. We have no idea what sets it off, but every once in a while he stops whatever he's doing and takes off running as fast as he can, ears back and his tail between his legs. He'll run until he skids into a corner, turns around and runs back the other direction. Crazy little bastard.
