His last activity presumably fixing when MOTL's homepage got hacked this year.

So you see that banner ad on the top of the page that errs when you click on it? Suppose to lead you to the website for this store:

Either Ed or Dean owns that with I guess Dean running it.

I'm wondering if all of us active users write politely on that page asking if we could get some admin assistance in some updates or them giving admin access to someone more active they trust if we could get a response.

This is prompted by all this talk of us moving on to a new site when many of us just want this site to have some simple updates (fixing the search engine and maybe a couple more mods).

Any thoughts? Maybe a message post like:

Hi! I'm a long standing active member of MOTL. Love supporting the site, but there hasn't been any admin/founder assistance since 2013/2012 respectively. We'd love an admin to help us update the search functionality and maybe ad a new mod, or really just any sort of interaction would be appreciated. There is widespread talk of jumping to a new site, but that seems sad considering there are so many willing to help this site.

I really love this site, but it is currently owned by someone who doesn't give a damn about it.

It would be different if MOTL drove traffic to his site, but MOTL has become diametrically opposed to retail. That explains a lot. Updating and keeping MOTL relevant is counterproductive to his store. If I'd known Ed owned Eudemonia, I wouldn't have bothered even trying to get hold of him. Now I know why he doesn't care or want to see MOTL improved.

Why he keeps renewing it is for the mods I'm guessing, for their hours and hours of unpaid help getting MOTL up and functioning and keeping MOTL useful. It would be a giant middle finger to them if he let it expire.

It's been made pretty clear that nobody with the authority to update MOTL is interested in doing so. Deal with it as it is or build another trading site. Those are pretty much your options. I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by continuing to contact someone who has made their feelings quite clear. I've offered to buy the site numerous times as have others. He can't be forced to sell or update the site and umm, it is a FREE site so he's not under any obligation to do anything, including renewing it. I'm not sure what calling me out by name is going to do to help the cause.
