Topic: Value of the remains of my collection : Japanese FOIL edition

I played magic happily for about 15 years, but decided to move on a few years ago. Due to the financial strain of buying a house, I've decided to move on what remains of my collection. I've asked around to some people who I thought would be able to help me out with determining the average value of these particular cards, but I haven't been able to get a straight answer. So I'm hoping some of you might be able to shed some light for me. The large majority is Japanese FOIL, hence the difficulty for me to determine an average value. How did you manage to acquire a lot of very hard to find high end jap foils and not know what they are worth?Foil Fact or Fiction X2 ~50 Foil City of Brass X4 (5th ed?) Are these not foil?

Because the prices have exploded in the last few years? That being said, sets on some of these make a difference. Crucible - 10th or 5D?

For whatever its worth pricing-wise, he has all of these cards and they are mostly NM/M. Been friends for years.

Thanks for your help Zakman. That's a good start.I think I'm going to break this down into more digestible chunks... That might make it easier. Does anyone know the value of a Japanese FOIL Merchant Scroll? Paging Michael French... Where are you Frenchie!?!?! =)

You might want to try mtglibrarities for some of this stuff. It's full of snooty Europeans who will send you PMs saying "how much do you want for X?" when you post a "what's this worth" posting, but there's probably some people who know pricing there still.
