$500 tops. Being signed any anyone other then Garfield/Frazier kills the cards you're probably looking at less then $500 unless someone really needs a Jet.

Yeah. As far as I know, that is not his signature. I'm far from an expert, but that is one sig that I've seen many times, and never like that.

Good luck getting that sig authenticated....you may want to search on eBay to see what real Garfield sigs look like. quote: Originally posted by MoxMonkey: His signature has never looked like that.

I have met Richard Garfield 3 times, and had him personally sign over 20 of my cards.... I can say without a single doubt in my mind, that is not his signature. It is no where near his signature, and I would bet my signed Mox Ruby on it. (Sorry bud)

I am certainly no expert, but the sig on the mox looks kinda like this one if you account for the fat marker:http://www.ebay.com/itm/MTG-Signed-Unlimited-Shivan-Dragon-Richard-Garfield-See-scans-/171156581931?pt=Trading_Card_Games_US&hash=item27d9ba2e2b

You should probably look at authenticated sigs not the contrary.

Shoot. Well, if the signature is not authentic, what can I expect for it?

That is Richard Garfield's signature. I've met him a number of times to get cards signed, and that looks like an extremely dull Sharpie sig from a long time ago. When he is hurried his signature can be all over the place, and his signature has gotten cleaner/more refined over time.

Richard Garfield's R has always looked like an N. And a big hook on the G on top of that. If this is supposed to be his sig, it is poor at best. There is no way this sig is legit. Here are some examples http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=richard+garfield+signature&FORM=HDRSC2#a As you can see these look nothing like yours. I would personally rate this card at poor condition, and value it at $350 at best. You could try removing the sig with acetone to increase the value, but you could damage the card in the process. This is my opinion, so take it as you may. But know that I have dealt with 100's of sigs, and 100+ pieces of power. JSA will send this back as questionable authenticity.

It's just a very old, and likely hurried (or signed while standing up) signature. Tha_Gunslinga had some other really beat Moxes signed the same way, and there have been others on eBay over the past few years as well. As time has gone on Garfield's signature has become more elongated and exaggerated.

Looks like his older sig to me. I agree with Big. I've found multiple images of his older signature that has the same characteristics. like this one http://www.powernine.com/cardimages/Power/BlackLotus65.jpg the "FIELD" matches his older style

If you guys can show me a certified authentic signature of Richards early days I'll agree it's real until then I'm not a believer.

Looks the same to me. So, if it is authentic, could I get $500?

I have to agree with this assessment. If you look at the R in the "real" sig, it doesn't have a giant loop like the jet does. It could possibly just be a dull sharpie when signed (and hurried), but that is also a trick of forgers to pass off questionable autographs. I will concede that the two sigs do bear some similarities, but with it not being verified I feel it will hurt the value. I personally feel that you should have the card/autograph authenticated. It will confirm both are authentic, and put potential buyers at ease. For the $20 you would spend, it could mean the difference of $100+ on the sale value. Once again this is my opinion, so take it as you may.

Do you guys seriously think someone is faking Richard Garfield's signature on a Mox?Of course it's his signature. I've been playing since Revised and I've seen some like this.

It's not like his sig adds any value though.

I used to have a Mox Emerald signed the exact same way. I think it's legit.
