Maybe an update for server status and estimate of when it will be fixed? Or someone could stop by #motl and change the title to reflect this.

i think they know about as much as we do when the site crashes. even if they did know alot about whats going on im sure they dont want their email boxes getting flooded with "whats wrong" emails. perhaps posting a notice on another site(like salvation when the previous crash happened or i can post one on wotc.)
or the irc option seems like a good idea, remeber you can always swing by the nderdog forum when this happens

Everybody whose anybody knows that when the site goes down we all meet over at nderdog's house.Seriously, the only thing that I can do when the site goes down is email Leshrac at one of his non-MOTL email addresses. Which is what I did. __________________

Of course it is...MOTL's up. I really don't know how much good an email to Mods would do. We already know MOTL's down, it's rarely possible to estimate a time for recovery, and any time updating us on what's going on is time that isn't spent actually fixing the problem. As an administrator, nothing is more annoying than people constantly asking me for updates about a problem I'm trying to fix instead of leaving me alone to fix it.
