yeah i was just pulling my hair out over this. v4 is great, seems much faster/more efficient but this is a bit of a downer, what have you done slinga, use a dif browser for PMs? downgrade to 3.x??

I haven't tested it but I would guess that the same modifications that make PMs work in Chrome would make them work in Firefox 4 as well.

I just downgraded to 3.6. 4 was already annoying me anyway.

So...when is MOTL going to get a code update to let it work on newer, and newer and newer browsers?

Not ideal, but it does work, and it works with FF 4.0 as well.

Is this just trying to send PMs?

I've noticed I haven't received any PMs recently to offers of buying cards at seller's price. It could be just getting passed over, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a server issue. (I can't imagine how your choice of browser would prevent you from receiving a PM.)

It's not a server issue, it has to do with how strictly the browser validates the HTML. Newer browsers are more strict, and there's a few errors in the code for the PM page.

hmm, well not to be demanding or anything but since leshrac posted in his april fools BTA, maybe this fix for PMs can finally be implemented? sounds like loathing already has a code update ready to go...

i would seriously be willing to start a donation/drive to get this fix implemented. if we could get a bunch of members to each pitch in a few dollars would that help?? mods??

It's not an issue of money, it's just an issue of Leshrac being the only one (afaik) able to implement code changes, and him not being around. It should only take 5-15 minutes to fix, if he wanted to give me access to the server for 5-15 minutes I would be happy to fix the code and add a logout button, then he could revoke the access. It would probably be just as fast for him to do it himself though.

This is still an issue, right?

I can receive PMs here, but cannot send out PMs or respond to PMs. I use FireFox 4.0 so I'm assuming that is the problem.

Only Opera will send PM's... thought that was interesting. Didn't try my copy of Safari yet.

Sending IMs works in Firefox 4...I've been doing that instead of sending a PM - it ends up in the same place.

I can't POST in FF4, nor can I PM.

What I've been doing is, I open IE whenever I need to do anything on MOTL. Oddly enough, the latest version of IE works fine with the site.

On the other hand, any way to get around this problem from the browser's side?
