Loathing Member	posted December 23, 2010 09:38 PM As recently pointed out in a thread, you can't send Private Messages with Chrome. This is due to the code for privatesend.cgi having a few minor problems, which I've fixed. I've tested the revised code and it works in Chrome 8.0.552.224, Firefox 3.6.13, and Internet Explorer 8. I'm not sure who has access to the server, or whether you can simply change the files through the Admin Panel, but implementing the fix should just be a matter of modifying the footer and header files that privatesend.cgi calls. If an admin or mod would like to PM me an email I can send a copy of the code. Cheers

Loathing Member	posted February 07, 2011 11:19 AM I looked into making a Chrome extension to automatically correct the broken HTML, but it seemed like any existing extension which I could write a template for required access to all of your form data and browsing history, and I haven't been able to figure out how to make one from scratch (not even sure it's possible at an extension level). However, if you want to set up a page from which to send PMs in Chrome you can do this: 1) Go here and copy all of the text into notepad. 2) If you don't want to retype your name and password each time you send a PM then put your username where it says USERNAME HERE, and your password where it says PASSWORD HERE (leave the quotation marks). 3) Save as motl_pm.cgi (be sure to change file type to All Types), if you're not familiar with your directory structure save it on your Desktop. 4) In Chrome, open a new tab and type the corresponding link for your operating system in the address bar, then hit enter. 5) You should be able to send PMs from that page, although it will redirect you back to MOTL so it might be worth bookmarking (Ctrl+D). Links: XP: file:///C:/Documents and Settings/X/Desktop/motl_pm.cgi (X is your Windows username, whatever you log in with) Vista: file:///C:/Users/X/Desktop/motl_pm.cgi (X is your Windows username, whatever you log in with) Windows 7: file:///C:/Users/X/Desktop/motl_pm.cgi (X is your Windows username, whatever you log in with) Obviously this isn't an ideal solution but it should be functional until a real fix is made. __________________ Collecting Time Sieve. Loathing Member	posted April 21, 2011 08:32 PM The code on the site hasn't changed, PMs still won't work in either FF 4.0+ or Chrome. The fix I posted above should work for both of those browsers, if it doesn't work for you please PM me which browser and version you're using so I can try to recreate the problem.
