*makes it in time for closing*

100 - all hail DJSmurfy!

Great weather over here in Cuenca; on Saturday I'm going to Ingapirca to check out some inca ruins, on Sunday back to Riobamba, Monday to Guaranda and then Salinas..and lots more..
Apart from being sick of longing for a piano or keyboard and my girlfriend, life rocks.

http://members.fortunecity.com/tsvdarts/townsvilledartsassociation/id14.html

And for those who don't care to read the article:

The numbering of a standard dartboard is designed in such a way as to cut down the incidence of 'lucky shots' and reduce the element of chance. The numbers are placed in such a way as to encourage accuracy. That's it. Pure and simple. The placing of small numbers either side of large numbers e.g. 1 and 5 either side of 20, 3 and 2 either side of 17, 4 and 1 either side of 18, punishes inaccuracy. Thus, if you shoot for the 20 segment, the penalty for lack of accuracy or concentration is to land in either a 1 or a 5.

There are 121,645,100,408,832,000 different possible arrangements of the 20 segments on a standard dartboard so it is perhaps a little surprising that Gamlin's arrangement of the numbers is almost perfect.

Google works wonders...

I told my girlfriend that the XBox and I would like to spend some more time together.

It didn't go over very well.

Ahhh...the jealousy between women and electronics.

This is why I got my wife hooked on console gaming.

Are you so sure about that?

Both take up all of your free time.

Both can cost you a lot of money.

Both can be very entertaining.

Both make you sad when you don't have one around for a while.

That's what Miss GameCube is for...the mistress!

Or 2-player games are another good idea. My wife loves it when we play Simpsons Road Rage or Gauntlet together.

So this is why we call it "Une X-Box" in French! (we don't have neutral gender, everything is either male or female)

However, only one cooks ...

Congratulations I suppose, but not too long ago I went back to PfS 40-something and saw a very similar post by myself. It's exciting and all, but don't get too excited yet. Just stay happy, and don't make my mistakes .

That was also the edition of PfS (#47) where I discovered I loved you. :-*

Ive got a math study sheet to make for my class(yes im a student in there too) but I can't seem to remember how this is done. I know its really simple but I have'nt done it in a while.

You are playing slots in a casino. There are 10 icons on each of 3 wheels that spin and land in a random position. Each wheel has the same 10 icons on it. To win you must have 3 of the same icons in a row.

How many possible outcomes are there?
How many outcomes give you a win?

If anyone could refresh my memory on how to calculate this or just answer it, that would be great.

Isn't it 10x10x10 for a total of 1000 outcomes? I dunno
Thanks

Does anybody know the name of a new game coming out this summer for PS2. I read about it in one of the gaming mags like Gamepro or something and about how it was going to be the coolest game ever, but I can't remember what it was called. Its a roll player game set in like midevil times or fantasy world or something. You interact w/ peeps and your responses determine if your a good guy/bad guy. Any ideas?

I believe, it is "Fable" and it was for XBox actually...or that could be a similar game to what your referring to anyways.

eh, i think this is it. if you count the outcomes of 'cherry, jackpot, chicken' and 'jackpot, chicken, cherry' as different outcomes, its 1000. if you dont, and they are the same outcome, then i believe that you take 10 x 9 x 8 to get the answer. that would be 720 outcomes.

oh, and 10 outcomes give you a win.

and i believe that both these change if youre counting playing all 3 and can have diagonal ones (in more complex casino machines).
