Why not try following the rules rather than apologizing?

There is absolutely no reason that I should have to be summoned to deal with things like this because people can't follow clear specific rules for something that is supposed to be a nice way for people to get cards they need without having to find direct trades for random small stuff. I don't really want to have to invoke moderator powers and start issuing karma smacks, but if that is the only way to get people to follow the rules, then you will leave us no choice.

This is everyone's last warning. Bulletproofman, I hope for your sake that you do get your points up very soon.

I'm not sure what else I can say other than "I'm sorry" again. I am not going to rip people off for a couple of 10 cent commons (or for any value, for that matter). I was under the impression that going negative for literally a day or two was akin to driving 10 miles/hr over the speed limit -- technically illegal, but everyone does it. I already put cards in the mail to deaditex and Myysterio this morning which should offset my recent requests (and I have outstanding PMs to HiddenKeep and Nyarlathotep333 to further increase my points). Depending on the vagaries of the post office, I may not actually be negative at ANY point in time. nderdog, I am sorry someone felt the need to summon you. I promise not to even entertain the possibility of going negative at any point in the future.

Willing to take points for virtually anything on my "haves" list. I need to thin out my trade binder.

No, this is a hard and fast rule because we've had to change the rules once already to deal with people trying to get a free ride. I'm not saying that this is the case with you, but it is a rule that is strictly enforced due to people abusing the system in the past. It's why the rule reads as it does:

Until you have the points credited to your account to ask for cards, it's very explicitly not okay to accept them. Blame those in the past who have forced us to take a hard line on this.

I received 4x Plated Geopede from Liq today.

Regarding the negative points issue:
If you want to see my position on this, you need only to go back to Part 5 of the Card Exchange and check out approximately pages 4-7. There were no less than 6 instances of members going into negative points during that span. I tried several tactics to get it to cease: direct requests, humor, sarcasm, and simple explanations of my motives and desires. And it didn't cease.

This left me with two options: ignore it or get help from a stronger authority. I saw what happened before I became caretaker, the efforts nderdog went to to keep this viable, and the below-zero-freezer list of members he still ended up with anyway. Ignoring negative points was not an option.
I really hate to have to alert nderdog each time and have him come and be the mean old grump about it -- but I will.

I said it back at the end of November, but it obviously could use repeating:

No more negative points!
