With Kiki-Jiki ($20) and Sun Quan ($25), aren't those 2 alone are already over MSRP?

It's got 3 over 20, and a 15, so that way more then MSRP... People keep comparing ONLY non-foil price of the cards, when these are foiled...seems a very silly comparison to make. So far it is already worth MSRP, don't get why people say it isn't worth it? __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

I think most of the complaining comes in the fact that almost everyone I know hates the FTV foiling process. If they're looking for a foil copy for EDH or Legacy or whatever, they would rather have normal foil instead. In that case, the FTV cards are simply an avenue to have access to cards that are expensive in their own right (P3K, Mox Diamond, Berserk) at a set MSRP or small markup depending on the generosity of the LGS. It doesn't matter that the actual FOIL Doran, Rafiq, Progenitus, Kresh, Kiki-Jiki, and Teferi are worth over $100.

Seems to be on a card by card basis. If you look at Relics, Aether Vial seems to hold it's own in comparison to the original foil. Masticore, however, is a couple bucks compared to the much higher original.__________________ The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.

Except for Sun Quan, All of those are available in foil already. We all know that foil ftv != foil. More like Foil FtV = Normal. See Mox Diamond, Berserk, Crappy dragons. __________________ #2 in posts from British Columbia!Got any Portuguese Foils? Post on my list or email me at valter.cid@gmail.com !

No, Regular Aether Vial 10-11 FTV Aether Vial 12-13 Foil Aether Vial 20+ Also look at Serendib Efreet Arabian Nights ~30 FTV 3.00 Sun Quan won't be 25, it's maybe 10 at the most. Kiki Jiki is 5.00. Progenitus will be under 10.00. Everything else is under 5.00.

I fail to see how Sun Quan could even be 10. He's not really all that good.

The set itself is disappointing but this is actually worth more as singles before release than FTV dragons was.

Hey guys! I actually just posted my opinions on FTV on my new blog:Don't Train My Orgg! I evaluate a few of the cards, compare old foil prices to the new ones and discuss WHY it's a great buy. Please feel free to leave me a commnet... I'm new to blogging! :P Cheers! Carl Szalich

SCG prices do not reflect a card's value. They reflect what SCG thinks they can sell it for considering the added value of buying from a highly reputable dealer. Even these prices will probably fall soon. I would sell every sun quan I ever had at $25, for example. And I have piles of him. There's not really a lot of content in your post. It's mostly just very obvious observations about cards that aren't at all new. You barely discussed how ONE block is majorly featured, which, a block barely out of T2. You didn't mention how the P3K legends people actually want didn't get printed (instead sun quan, who is bad, and cao cao, who is nowhere near the top in terms of monoblack generals). You also didn't mention how not even one of the better Legends Legends weren't printed, or touch on how the Reserve List meant that a lot of good legends weren't even allowed to see print.

not bad fo ra first blog post but my main issue is. "The verdict? OBVIOUSLY it's a good deal... buy all you can @ MSRP!!" this is a no brainer. All the FTV have been worth it at MSRP, but for many they can't get them at MSRP so i'd have gone with more of at what price point is it worth it to buy.

Hey Volcannon / Timebeing thanks for the advice!Timebeing: I did end up editing the "conclusion" of that blog post by adding the following paragraph: "BUT if you're not fortunate enough to have access to FTV at retail... how much should you be looking to spend? With SCG buying @ $50 and selling @ $80, I would pay $60 for the FTV if I wanted to collect it, or needed many of the cards. If however, I just wanted that shiny Captain Sissay for my commander deck I would buy the single and not worry about this one." Volcannon: Those were some very good points that you made! I was just using SCG as a price comparison, so that's not a biggie, but your other points were very valid! I'll have to try and think of more stuff like that in the future because it would have been gold!

Looked good to me. Well written, although I didn't learn anything I didn't already know. When I read blogs I'm usually looking to hear someone's opinion on something, since there are much better sources for basic information than blogs. I didn't really pick up your opinion until the very end.

Store I play at was asking MSRP price on this FTV set. Only other time they sold for MSRP was for FTV dragons but they must have realized that this is not a great FTV set like some of the other ones. I bought one just to keep it sealed for future value.
