Getting rid of Cloudpost was surprising - they trashed an entire archetype and their only reason was that the archetype somehow stifled other decks. I thought the bannings were to eliminate tier 1 combo turn 3 or before? About the only way that 12post could win so quickly was via Through the Breach (technically not really a "win" on the spot, but close enough) - if anything TtB should have been banned and the rest left intact. It seems that WotC is just flailing around randomly when it comes to the banning some of the cards in modern.

Or perhaps control decks of any kind arent viable when cloudpost is in the format.

I don't think Ponder/Preordain make a difference in making control viable.

I'm not usually one to tout the whole "do we really need a new thread for this" but do we really? This couldn't have been discussed in the Post for Magic Stuff? Or in the actual thread for the Banned/Restricted List update? quote: Originally posted by Ryoka: After all the idiots who came out and called me an idiot, they banned cloudpost :>i know what you're gonna say...."but they technically didnt ban vesuva". ok, sure, i'll buy that. hohoho Ryoka
Also, there is no "technically" here. They didn't ban Vesuva. Pretty much everyone in that thread came to the same conclusion that Vesuva is perfectly fine and not crazy enough to be banned. It needs other cards to be good and can still be used to copy other less broken lands. __________________ PMs don't work in Chrome or Firefox 4.0+, see HERE for work arounds.
