Looking through the 7 feedback he has...Six of his 7 are from guys who sell mostly warhammer 40k stuff. I doubt he could be big into miniatures and not know a thing about Magic. He would at least ask someone at his LGS before putting up a hail mary on ebay.

No, its a box full of junk with the word "Alpha" written on the box. I could do the same thing right now with the junk in my room and a Sharpie.

And take someone for like 10% of their yearly income for $50 worth of cards. Bidders like this are the kind of people who fall for the scams from Nigeria.

Honestly, if you make 30k a year, and you buy this, you deserve to have no money. Survival of the fittest, no?

Just stop posting so much and look, search around and learn. People who are all über-excited here at first without following forum/site rules are usually eventually banned. I welcome you to the site, I just recommend respect to the people/rules on these boards. You can really learn a lot around here, if you'e willing to lurk in the shadows before going off on a ton of diff things all at once. Good luck bro and happy trading!

I do not understand why this is called a scam. As long as the seller delivers the promised 24000-26000 cards and the 8 cards shown in the picture, it will definitely not be a scam. Of course, you can argue the seller may be lying when he claims that he has never handle the cards before. But if a person is greedy and not smart enough to pay $3000+ for this lot of 24000-26000 cards, I think it will be a lesson well learnt if this episode can help to avert him from being scammed of larger amounts in the future

because the seller is being intentionally misleading. Labeling a box beta then showing a few beta cards "from that box" would imply the box is beta. The scam is that the box is not entirely beta. If it wasn't a scam, the seller would be honest with what is being sold.... which the seller obviously is not. Didn't think that was a difficult concept.

I asked for photos of all the M12 commons in the boxes. Didn't get a response.

If they've taken the time to realise that 'Alpha/Beta/Unlimited' is the kind of labelling that means the boxes contain cards that are worth a 3+ thousand dollar purchase price, then they know enough to know that there are cards that might be in those boxes that are individually worth double that and more.Anybody who puts a Magic lot on eBay and knows the kind of knowledge this person obviously has, would know better than to not look and see if there's a lotus in there. That's the part that makes this obviously a scam.

How do you report this as a scam on ebay? It would suck if this auction completes and someone actually pays 3k+. I tried the report this item link, but it didnt have the "scam" option.

Well I live 90 minutes away from this location and have sent him an email saying would like to see this in person before placing a bid. If it is legit, he will respond. Otherwise, I would suggest steer clear of this one until confirmation. This does seem to have the makings of a scam. We shall see....Greg
