I did this sort of thing for awhile to acquire cheap rares that a dealer site was buying. It worked out pretty well.
I mean that's essentially what I do floor trading at GPs. When you have duals and power and cool foils, people are more than willing to give you a premium on their stuff. Less so when it's just standard crap they need for a deck

I don't really check this forum, but I am glad I found this. The OP is referring to me. He made an offer that was dead even for the fetches, at which point I asked for a premium for trading down. He asked if he could throw in a Hinterland Harbor.I told him that wasn't much, and that's when he proceeded to make that original offer on the first post. I said that was fine and provided my address. Come to find out, he was being sarcastic, then laughed at me for "trying to rip him off" and traders like me need to be banned from the site or something. I hope he's embarrassed.

The fact that he made a fake offer and ended up with your address should be enough to warrant a BTA.

Is it really? Cause if I make an offer, what prevents the other party from simply giving me his mailing address and therefore say that the trade is confirmed? In my experience with trades, it's usually, make an offer then the other party either accepts or reject. If he accepts then we proceeds to the exchanging of mailing address.

It's hard to let older stuff go that's been out of print for 10 - 20 years to the kid who opened the latest T2 bomb in his pack at the draft in FNM. New cards turn to **** most of the time and the print runs are enormous in comparison to what once as, so I get it. I agree with most here, trading is almost dead - buy and sell and call it a day.

It's even harder to trade with people who don't have a clue about what things are worth, such as thinking that FTV Realms are worth 45.00.

Not to sound stupid, but they aren't? I figured they'd be worth 50ish, can't be nearly as bad as the previous...

ebay puts them in the 60-70 ball park. Shipping makes things slightly more awkward too

Given the people on here, the fact he was offering more than MSRP is startlingly comforting.

wow just read this and ya If you have just been introduced to magic, experienced traders will till you that t2 sinks in price range rapidly. As soon as the newes set comes out and that hot new card is no longer the craze it sinks in value like a hot potato.Look at abrupt decay. It was $15+ at the release. Now youd be lucky to get $6 for it and this fluctuates daily.Olivia Voldaren.Good card but pretty much the same card as memnarch and how much is memnarch $4-$5?Just watch sets go by and blocks rotate out.Vengevine, gideon, lotus cobra there all victims of rotation.Fetch lands will never go down unless theyre reprinted. Then still, when they rotate theyll go back up.Lands are the foundation of any deck.Id trade my fetches for your t2 crap only if I had a buyer set up or a trade in my favor inline.I laugh at stupid kids who think theyre standard is big s$&t.The people who constantly buy packs and boxes to chase the neverending standard paperchase.joke.
