Anyone think Archangel of Tithes could see a home in some modern decks? Seems a good play in enchantment control decks

You're not allowed fun in magic. You have to like what everyone else does or you are a noob. I've never understood that thought process myself, but to each their own. Anyway, I love fun/bad cards. I will probably run 2 of that enchantment. The demon spawner does seem legit in edh though. Pair him with that 4UU guy that flickers for a U.

This set is looking really fun for limited. No color combos stick out as dominating and LOTSA combos. Not too much in the form of removal as usual tho...

I'm digging Talent of the Telepath myself. 4 mana to play 2 of your opponents spells for free seems like a good deal especially high cmc EDH spells potentially. And damnit if there isn't some more janky fae to pick up for the wife too :P

Talent of the Telepath {2UU} |Sorcery| Target opponent reveals the top seven cards of his or her library. You may cast an instant or sorcery card from among them without paying its mana cost. Then that player puts the rest into his or her graveyard. / Spell mastery -- If there are two or more instant and/or sorcery cards in your graveyard, you may cast up to two revealed instant and/or sorcery cards instead of one.

This also seems like it could be quite the sideboard card in certain types of control mirrors, and yeah EDH could do stupid things their as well.

Anyone else amazed at the new clash pack? I was reading the decklist and was like "okay... okay... Anafenza... Alter Rhino, pretty good. Let's see the other deck.... Altered new Honord Hierarch and altered Valorous stance, cool.... Dromoka's Command, useful... Collected Company, what?!?!... WINDSWEPT HEATH?!?!? Holy *beep*!" This is the best value clash pack that I can think of and a bit better than most event decks. I want to get a couple but, of course, they are now only to be found for $30. Oh well.

$30? More like $50. Heath is the worst fetch anyway.

Yeah. I tried adding two at $25 shipped to my tcg cart yesterday and then they showed up as $29 in the cart. I Waited too long.

Luckily these things will be everywhere soon for the 29.99 msrp.

How'd everybody do at the prerelease? I took white, ended up with a bunch of amazing removal, and splashed green for fatties.

*1 Hangarback Walker
1 Anointer of Champions
1 Knight of the White Orchid
1 Topan Freeblade
1 Elvish Visionary
1 Undercity Troll
1 Knight of the Pilgrim's Road
2 Stalwart Aven
*1 Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen
*1 Hixus, Prison Warden
1 Conclave Naturalists
1 Aven Battle Priest
1 Sentinel of the Eternal Watch
1 Vastwood Gorger
*1 Gaea's Revenge

2 Suppression Bonds
2 Celestial Flare
2 Swift Reckoning
1 Wild Instincts

8 Forest
9 Plains

Normally I try to fit in all the stupid ramp cards and "give my guy a stupid bonus" cards, but I forced myself to ONLY play removal spells and creatures. Basically I grinded out games until I could play Sentinel of the Eternal Watch or Gaea's Revenge and just blow past everything.

I was surprised at the power level of the thopter-making cards in blue and red; they were pretty frustrating to play against. Luckily, they get outclassed very quickly in the late game by pretty much everything.

I went undefeated, and I am usually terrible at sealed. I think I was rewarded for being disciplined in deck building, giving me better late-game topdecks during grindy games than my opponents, who were all playing "for fun". I mean, who plays Magic for fun these days?

I think Wooded Foothills may have an issue with that.

Rocked the one flight I joined in. First pack of Origins was Foil Piledriver, Piledriver. Played 0 Piledrivers in my RW aggro deck and went 3-0. Fourth round guy didn't want to split so I got 12 packs instead of 8.

Lily, Erebos Titan and a few other things in the prize packs. Yay.
