Either way this set is very good in my eyes. Getting some cards in foil that would have never really seen the light of day again. I'm not impressed with some of the choices but I can live with it. Also Fyndhorn Elves and Hymn with new art in foil got me all giggly!

This is a great set value wise, obv almost no one will get this at msrp
I like a lot of the set a few of the cards could have been more interesting choices (Kessig, Char for example..) but overall pretty good.

Don't underestimate the quantity of cards that are going to flood the market and remember, what happened to value of foil Maze, Urborg, Dryad arbor and such cards, when previous ftv product was released. So My estimate after initial high prices go down and lot of people are going to try sell the non JtMS cards:Dark ritual - $7
Stp - $10
Hymn - $5 (not sure about this one)
Elves - $3 (new option in M14)
Impulse - $2
Wall - $2
Dynamo - $7
Tangle Wire - $10
FoF - $4 (there is FNM and this is inferior to old art foil)
Edict - $3
Vengeance - $4
Lotus - $4
Ink eyes - $4 (reprinted to oblivion)
Char - $2
Venser - $12 (should be about the same as was Progenitus)
Collossus - $3
Ultimatum - $1
Jace - $150
Zenith - $10
Wolf run - $1

I think you are underestimating a lot of cards. Swords with the new art is very nice and worth far more than $10.

Venser Venser sees MUCH more play than Progenitus did when Legends came out.

I agree with the venser and stp underestimate comment. Venser foil spiked to $100 and has come back down (ebay ~$60) since spoiled in FTV. I'm guessing this will be ~$30. Also STP I can see being ~$30 since this art is far better than the latest foil they printed.

Idk - I'm kinda a fan of the judge swords to plowshares' art. Kinda looks like he's about to do work with a 9-iron.

I am sure the old art one will stabilize higher. Ftv foil process is ugly.

I expect these to be about 250 and then about 200 once the market gets flooded with them. Seems like the singles have always been worth more by themselves then as a package. I think it will be increasing more and more difficult to get these kind of sets at MSRP as stores get wise that 75% of the people buying these are doing it for resell and not for their own personal collection. If I had a shop I would take note of these and wouldn't sell them anything at MSRP again because I could resell it myself and they are just pocketing the money and not spending it at my store. just my thoughts if I owned a store. If you are a store walk around the people who buy them do you actually see the cards in their deck? the store near me used to sell these at mrsp to the people who claimed they were going into their Commander's deck. Guess what they still had the nonfoils in their later... Magic players many times will tell you whatever you want to hear so that they can get a good deal. Only to brag about it to their friends later, who then come to you and give you the guilt trip to sell it them at MSRP. I urge stores to stand up to this....stop selling these at MSRP unless it is truly a person who keeps the cards for themselves.... Do something with them to promote growth to the game. Door prizes, buy so much and get it for XX, win a tournament/raffle, charity...etc Don't straight out charge 250 for one, it just makes you look greedy. I think I would rather see you just put them up on ebay if that is your option.

if i owned a store i'd know all the people are looking to resell the set and i would sell it for say $250 as everyone else. and for the regulars i would have one as a prize in a tournament. as a store owner you know who does what with their cards and if you knew someone was keeping it or going to use it you'd cut a deal for them.

Our stores generally both do a mix of selling some for 100+, prizing one out, and doing a drawing to purchase at retail.

I'd say hymn has lot of upside as its never been foiled. $15 ... Sell out n sit at the $20 range for awhile. Swords, elves n rituals should be nice.
$25-$30 swords
$15 dark rituals
$5-7 f. Elves
I think Thtran dynamo will only be $5 tops. Hopefully only $3 I need a few.
Tower of magistrate foils out of mm were $50 n the FTV was less than non foil mm for a long time. Like $5 ... So 3$ on thran not $7-10. I hope not

Elves Combo players will want playsets of Fyndhorns  I hate the Ice Age art so much. This one is gorgeous as hell  8-10$ IMO.

Elves play 0~1 fyndhorn, I think once the initial demand dies down, it will be about 5 max. In terms of swords and hymn, I see them both at around 15.

I can't see StP (Swords)selling for more than $10. I can easily pick up the Judge version for less than $30 (I haven't because I hate the golf club artwork). 60-100,000 FtV versions will not be going for big $$$.

I'd like a set under $30 each as well. $40 is the minimum I've seen. The FTV will be a $15-20 alternative that has better art. I'm excited about the Dark Ritual. The best art IMO and now foil.

It is by far the best art. Now if only they had thought to include some flavor text. Dark Ritual has had a number of really good ones over the years.__________________
