Topic: Update the search function

Greetings !I have only recently began using your website. I have found it to be one of the most valuable tools online for exchanging magic cards. However, I was saddened to recently discover that the search function does not include the newest 3 or 4 sets. This can make it VERY difficult to attempt to trade anything from these sets, as I have to manually go through people's lists and find out what is on it. PLEASE UPDATE THE SEARCH FUNCTION !

This is a known issue many people have brought this up before,I would like to see it updated as well but don't expect it to be. It's unfortunate because it was a great feature.

Are they letting this website die for some reason ? The have/wants match feature seemed like a big draw to use this site in the first place. I know some other sites like deckbox.org have something similar.

Thank you very much ! I'm a little disappointed I have to use a 3rd party program to get the most out of MOTL, but I'm glad to have the option. Thanks again.

I am just as disappointed, if not more, than you are. I have been trading on this site for a long time, and the slow decay has forced me to turn elsewhere for most of my trading purposes. --Evil __________________

Is there some way someone that knows nothing about programming can help? Like do the basic input so that we can update the search? I'd be more than happy to do something if I can despite my lack of knowledge as a code writer.

I think that is more up to date than they were previously. I think this means they're still making updates, just incredibly slow ?

It already does to an extent. If you search for "Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts" you'll see a user Stegered Out has a gold square and a white square. The gold indicates they have a foil version. On their list they have "1x <foil>Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts</foil>" it chokes up when someone puts: "<foil>1x Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts</foil>" or when there are multiple cards inside one foil tag. Seeing that there is almost infinite ways a user can format their list, and that a lot of people don't even use foil tags, it's tough. I will look into making the foil recognition better when I get a little more free time from work.

The biggest issue i have (besides the cards not being updated) is that i get matches for Silence all the time, however it is matching me with Temple of Silence. this also happens with various other cards. I also find it doesnt match many of the plainswalkers or gods because of the ","
