Worth bolding? Pshaw. How much does this really matter? Think about it for a second... before, he was hiding out on some random farm, out of power, fearing for his life. Now, he's in custody. Who notices the difference? Is he really any less of a threat now? We had already done what we needed to do regarding Saddam. The fact remains: this war is still a complete failure. We have found no weapons of mass destruction, and thus no proof that we know what we're doing. Expletive deleted Bush. __________________ Great Literary MasterpiecesE-Mail Address: eclinchy@yahoo.com AIM Handle: eclinchy5 MSN Handle: eclinchy5@hotmail.com The Apprentice Directory 2004 -- the year the Curse dies. Oh no! Think for yourself sheep! If you say you don't like Bush you're giving in to propaganda! [/sarcasm] I agree pretty much 100% with what you just said, and PD. It is a good day for americans and troops and their morales, but in the big picture, it doesn't change much.

That is the first sensible thing you've said tonight. With Saddam in custody we might actually get some final word on the disposition of WMD. Or rather, if Saddam says "we don't have any" we'll hear nothing at all. EDIT: Oh, you're banned. Well at least I won't have to lock horns with you anymore. Unless you manage to return. Either way, good luck and long life to you. __________________ -- PlasteredDragon A.K.A. Chuck Seggelin * ebayID: PDragon616THE STONE RAIN PROJECT: I want your foreign or unusual Stone Rain cards! From now on, I have decided to shave EVERYDAY!! I don't want to look like this scuffy old bum ...Anyway, it's good news. Purely "symbolic" to my mind (ie. it won't change a iota the threat on US-and-allies-and-all-other from terrorism, nor it will really change the situation in Irak), but good news anyway. And it's not really bad news for Saddam neither. Look at Milosevic ... It's been years since he was arrested and he his always dressed in nice suits, he eats what he wants everyday, he lives in a cell, yes, but he his alone in his cell. He also benefits from an almost-daily show (his trial). Cool life, no? Regards, Eric. __________________ MINT is MINT ! Help me finish my boosters collection. I say they put him into a maximum security penitentiary with a cellmate named Bruiser. What Saddam doesn't know, is Bruiser likes older men. I know what I'd do, show him the South Park movie! I bet even he'd crack up at his likeness. Sadam: "I can change, I can chaaaaaaange!" Satan: "But what if you remain a sandy little butt-hole?" Well here's my rant:I hate Bush and Bush Jr. I also hate Democrats. But, all in all, as much as I oppose provoking people and going into war, it was the safety of it all to do so. As for Saddam? It's quite sad that such a tyrant would allow himself to hide in the sand like that, not to mention allowing to be caught alive. It's an even bigger victory for the USA to have found him alive and confirm that. It only makes our side of the history book writing even more fun. As for loyalty, hah! You can see that in the end people are wimpy and will succumb to making themselves happy by saying "don't hurt me, go lookie here" and such. Now, for Osama, it'll be a bit harder since his group of people have more of a die hard approach to being loyal to his gruesome ways. With Saddam it was just a matter of time (how ironic in his hometown, in his country, in a hole like a scared rabbit) but for Bin Laden it'll take years unless he has complete kidney failure. Saddam will be tried for crimes against humanity and be put to death. It'll be the biggest Pay-Per-View ever. He'll die in his own country but he will not be remembered as being a great and victorious leader. Can you imagine what would have happened if we'd have caught Hitler? This would only come to a mere second place then. __________________ GøÐÐ맧MOTL Secret Santa 2003 MOTLSS2K3@hotmail.com

Ok, this is getting idiotic. Bloody ridiculous, in fact. Firstly, Saddam wasn't LIVING in the hole, he was hiding there. Living entails eating, sleeping, and defecating. Were he doing that in the hole, he'd be rather dead by now. Where did you WANT him to hide? In a bloody palace smack in the middle of Washington? Christ folks, get a grip here. This is reality, not a movie. Where the hell do you think Bin Laden is hiding? I'm willing to bet it isn't in a bloody underground palace.
If you knew a whole army was out there searching for you, you'd hide too. Wherever it was. As for his surrender... who gives a flying f*? Why should Saddam be any less attached to his own life than you or me? As for Val's scared rabbit comment... what would YOU be in his situation? Eh? Bloody well terrified, missus. It's a wonder he ever showed his face at all. As for his trial being a big pay per view affair... that is quite frankly disgusting. Yes, it should be an open trial, IMO. But it most likely won't be. What's most likely? A military trial. What is preferable? An international trial. However it winds up, execution in any method will be the same thing: a murder. Another thing: He doesn't look THAT bad with his beard and dirty hair. Everyone's blowing it up quite a bit. Now, I'm no fan of Saddam Hussein. But you know what? I don't stoop to degrading a man who's already lost everything. Yes yes yes, shame as punishment, yes yes yes. Quite frankly, I don't care. Has he not been punished enough? Saddam has virtually nothing left. So why do we have to stoop to all this degradation bull? It doesn't help anyone. But I guess that's life, hate it as I might.

I can't imagine that we'll allow a military trial to take place. Bush has explicitly stated that he wants Saddam to face an Iraqi count, which I think is as good an idea as any. Seems to me that a military court would be like a repeat of the Hideki Tojo trial, which was difficult enough to conduct in a relatively peaceful post-WW2 Japan. Doing something similar in Iraq would be a horrible idea, and I believe everyone realizes this. __________________ A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money. -- G.
