So, what are your opinions on color/type hosers in a casual setting?IE: Tom and I play theme decks (Rebels, Slivers, Elves..) and one of his friends has been trying VERY hard to get a couple of extinctions to play against us. We also tend to play solid white, white/blue, white/green... most of our decks have white in them. He went out and got 4 cards that do 2 damage to target player for each white or blue permanent they control. For as long as I can remember, we've always had a no color/type hosers rule in our house, because it just sucks all the fun out of the game. So, I was just wondering what you guys think. Exactly. There's a reason I have 5 decks that I rotate through randomly, covering various colors and strategies. You could have a house rule regarding it, but personally, I find it far more fun to just surprise them with something new and leave them with a few useless cards in their decks. They'll learn quickly enough. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. The GP and PT in Paris is interesting. I wonder how that's going to work. If they're run at the same time, then no qualified pros in the GP will be strange.
With San Francisco being the weekend before Thanksgiving of next year, I'm seriously thinking about going, just like GP Nashville this year.

Cards like Extinction i find ok, because they pretty much have application against anything. you could extinction a creature with shroud, or pro black if you wanted to. Chaotic backlash on the other hand, unless you're using it in a deck that lets it hit other stuff, like with painter's servant, that would be someone tailoring their deck just to be annoying.

I think colour hoser in casual is a bit much, especially consider how powerful the older ones are, perhaps introduce him to your little friend chill?

Yeah well, I have four decks. All W Rebels. U/W Merfolk. G/R Eldrazi and G/W Landfall.... See where I'm going? I'm a theme type of player. The only deck I could play would be landfall, and that would mean I'd have to play it ALL night, every time we played. And while it's true that extinction can be slightly useful against any deck, it completely demolishes just about any of mine. I'm really beginning to hate the card Luminarch's Ascension too! It sucks SOOO bad in a multiplayer game! Turn 2 cast it. Your 4 opponents go, turn three, have multiple 4/4 fliers every turn. How annoying! I was under the impression that Extinctions were not diffucult to obtain via the internet. That said, if you want him to stop being a hater, hate his arse right out the door with Arcane Laboratory and Erayo. Also, you didn't answer my NK question __________________ *MafiaBass*Joshweek*Letter Bombs!*Prices*Gatherer*Logout <Tranderas> damn

Sorry Josh! Yes, there is a store in NK, it's called Baseball Cards of Rhode Island. But, I have a unique idea to do. It's kind of like a Gamer's Department store. There's a big store for lease down the street, and I would like to section it off. One section for tabletop strategy game (IE: warhammer), one for RPG's and tables there for people to play them, and one for card games and tables there for people to play them as well. What do you think? I'm just not sure how to go about it. Thanks, Jazaray

I'd suggest adding board gaming and puzzles to the list as well. The more you can widen your target market, the better off you'll be. Nderwife and I have often talked about plans for a store like this, but there's simply no way that it could possibly be successful in this area. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Working in a local gaming shop, I'd definitely suggest doing board games as well. Stores like walmart don't carry some of the top rated board games like Settlers of Catan, or Carcasone, and they sell pretty well.

When I took Nderwife to lunch, she said that the guy that won the tourney last night was being a jerk and talking about all of the mistakes I made in building my deck (fairly typical Jund build, adjusted for Extended sans Tarmogoyf, which would have utterly destroyed his deck if we got matched up) and he apparently ticked her off quite a bit, so she told me to take $100 and beat his ass. I'll be picking up the rest of what I need for Fae shortly for next month's Extended tourney, as well as using the stuff that I was going to spend on booster boxes for tournaments at the store since they finally started stocking packs and UNH boxes are nearly $100 each and upgrading my Standard deck as well to ensure that he finds out just how unwise it is to upset a lady. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. I'm not so worried about winning, now that the locals seem to be getting pretty decent...it's all about beating the one guy. I'm shifting from gimmicky decks like Polymorph and such to more serious decks now that I'm not coming in first every week, but I'm always set to win the head-to-head with this guy, mainly because he's the only one who's really over-competitive and either brags about how he won every game or takes the deck and either makes drastic changes or totally rips it apart and starts over if he loses a single game or two. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. I advocate being as creepy as possible when paired against this guy. Don't say a word the entire match, breathe heavily through your nose, and every once in a while, lick your lips in a very conspicuous way. The more audible the better.

I don't want to be creepy. I much prefer to just plain flat-out beat him so he has no excuses. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. Remember the Auctions Board!

Was going to say that sounds a little out of flavor, but then remembered it would give it to all slivers. Just imagining a horde of slivers pushing one of their broodmates forward with a big boost of extra power. Give them time. They'll bring slivers back eventually __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!

"Pack to power" is just a stupid concept. Even whoever it is that writes the articles for this "cheats" and basically people give him cards.

Got a guy at my shop, everytime i come in, he tries to hand me his pack to power binder (which is only 2 pages, mostly full of commons) and everytime i make him feel like an idiot for even trying to trade me anything out of there. The jig is up bro, everyone knows that if you have a pack to power binder, that your trying to rip, or get more value for what you have. Im not trying to help anyone that is doing that pack to power crap.
