If anyone recall, ChannelFireball put some up pretty attractive buylists on MOTL 1-2 months ago. I believe some members sold cards to them. I was one of them. The tracking number of my 2 registered mail packages showed that they were delivered on 19 Sep 2011. By 2 Oct 2011, I decided to email ChannelFireball for payment but received no payment. By 7 Oct 2011, I have emailed ChannelFireball a total of 4 times, including evidence from USPS website and Singapore Post Office website showing that the 2 registered mail packages had been signed for. Till today, there is still no reply from ChannelFireball. I am getting a bit concerned. Are they in any financial difficulties and shutting down business? Note: ChannelFireball contacted me via the email displayed on their website for Buying Cards. So it is definitely not an imposter using the "ChannelFireball" name. Prior to confirming the deal, I also emailed ChannelFireball scans of the cards that I will be selling to them to confirm the condition. So it should not be the condition of the cards that is holding up the deal.

it is of my belief that they actually suffered a large break-in somewhat recently...I don't know much beyond that. Maybe thats a reason for delay?

Unless the thieves made off with their computers and/or IP address there is no excuse for the lack of communication. A simple note explaining the situation is all that is required to put MTD at ease but they have not even responded to his inquiries. That's pretty shoddy business practice on their end. Keep calling them until you get your answer, MTD, and good luck!

Exactly, and they would have insurance covering the losses of any break in anyways. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Well, I am sorry to hear that they suffered a break-in. But the thieves definitely did not make off with my cards. I sold them 12 foil FNM Swords to PLowshares ($75 each) and 10-20 other lesser cards. I checked out their website and they have 16 foil FNM Swords to Plowshares for sale here at $119.99 (saved a screenshoot in my laptop: http://store.channelfireball.com/catalog/magic_singles-magi c_promos-fnm_promos/swords_to_plowshares__fnm_2001/28159 I know FNM STP gone up from 75 to 90-100 recently and I am happy for them that they make a great purchase. But the least they could do is to pay me?

I am really unhappy that they got my cards, put it for sale, and still did not pay me. This is really not very decent behavior. Gunslinga is right. BTA!!!

Does anyone recall the post where someone complained about an online store canceling their order awhile back?It actually turned into people complaining about their experiences with other stores, which included CFB. I myself was ripped off by CFB, and since they continued to ignore my requests for satisfaction, I refuse to deal with them.

I recall it - I think it was originally about Alter Reality Games. I shall go on a search for it!

So you also sold them stuff, and they refused to pay you?

No, I ordered something off of ebay that was not as described, as which they told me to send it back for a replacement. I did and after weeks of telling me they were gonna credit me and send me the correct item, they stopped responding to my inquiries. Edit, I must have been thinking of another post, I don't see what I was referring to in that post above...

I haven't had a problem with buying from ChannelFireball when I was buying through TCGplayer. Preorder stuff always seemed to arrive on time.

It always saddens me when a BTA is required to get a response.quote: Originally posted by Thanos: Edit, I must have been thinking of another post, I don't see what I was referring to in that post above...
I think I know which post you're talking about; it was pretty recent, though I can't remember where it was now. It might have been in the Post for Magic Stuff. TBH, it seems like every store has been complained about at least once for something or another. Edit: Oh, different post. So many of these come up every so often...

I don't recall honestly, I just remember saying I had a bad experience with them and then Ben asked me for the details in which I posted them. Edit:
I found the post I was thinking of: http://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/024289.html

to be fair, that shouldn't set off an alarm. as a major retail store, there's no way they pay first. i have no idea why troll and toad does that. but yeah, maybe theyre just disorganized, keep hounding them __________________

So our ref system is nothing more than bull**** to you? That's what I'm taking from your comments. As a MOTL member they SHOULD if they have a lot less refs than you. Welcome to MOTL, our system has been in place for a long time and has worked perfectly. If you don't like it then GET THE **** OUT!. T&T actually respects the ref system, like you should. Tired of people coming on here demanding that we send first to them bc they are reputable on Ebay, own a store, etc etc....I didn't build refs to ship off my cards to someone else first. Earn your MOTL stripes.

I think TaT does it for a few reasons: 1. Their buyer has been on MOTL for awhile and understands how most people view deals done through this board. 2. They understand that if there is a problem they can take it to the BTA and usually get some money back. 3. They avoid situations like this that hurt their reputation more than the occassional condition disagreement. I'm sure many of the larger online retailers get in dozens of buylist packages a day. People expect to get paid quickly. If I sell to you and ship the cards, then it takes five days after you get them to send me my money, chances are I'm not selling to you again in the future. The bad PR from a back-up could cause serious damage to your ability to get inventory sold to you consistently. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Yep, they said something to the effect that it's easier on bookkeeping if they make payments first. [Edit: I wasn't responding to disagree, but rather to agree.]

Which would be in line with what I said. There's no delay on either end with this method. The seller gets paid right away and the buyer doesn't have to worry as much about verifying the package is accurate as soon as it arrives. That helps avoid delays in getting payment out and is one less thing to track. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Dude, that is THE NOAH WINSTON, he is the master trader and is also above our rules clearly.
It sickens me for people to think they can circumvent the rules on MOTL. I can click on a random post in the sales forum and I am more than 50% sure that person would not send first to people with more refs...one guy has like 2 refs and has been a member for 6 years and is trying that...you would think they would get the hint....
