General Khurzog - 1RRLegendary Creature - Orc Warrior T: General Khurzog deals 2 damage to target creature or player and 3 damage to you. Sacrifice a creature: General Khurzog deals 2 damage to target creature or player.
His effectiveness as a leader is attributed to his soldiers being more afraid of him than the enemy. 2/2 I was totally looking forward to him being printed in Time Spiral; was a little bummed but not surprised we got Ib Halfheart instead.

Standard of Numbers (3)Legendary Artifact Creatures you control that share a creature type with at least 1 other creature you control get +1/+1. Creatures you control that share a creature type with at least two other creatures you control gain haste. Creatures you control that share a creature type with at least 3 other creatures you control get +1/+1. Creatures you control that share a creature type with at least 4 other creatures you control gain trample. This is a very tribal artifact, I've always been a fan of tribal strategies, and this one really puts any tribal strategy into a beatdown mode.

edited for mana order but not power level? lol... That card is pure broken.

An equipment that turns into a creature? That means it would unequip from the creature its equipting, or is it supposed to equip to a land?

Fortification is an artifact type that was done for one card in Future Sight, Darksteel Garrison, basically working with lands like equipment does with creatures. LemonMeringue's card should have had Fortify rather than Equip (same concept, land rather than creature). It doesn't change itself into a creature, it makes the land it's attached to a X/X Artifact Creature Land - Fortress until the end of the turn. As far as I can see, other than needing to change Equip to Fortify, that card would work fine under the rules, though I could be wrong, and welcome correction if I am.

Spoiled Child - ikris Seems really really good. Like a better Panglacial Wurm, but without the body. Interesting design, for sure. Hard to say how this would work in a tournament environment (if it would be used and how it would be used), but definitely a fun card. Serra's Nightmare - Almost Grown I find this card to be extremely balanced. I feel as though the corrupt ability would be used the most, but then you have the ability to do so many other things. Like the design. Bountiful Fields - mattw My only issue is that the lands aren't specified as being untapped. Given the colors, you could have a possible 5 mana on turn 2. Seems a little too powerful. Deviant Thief - Battle_Of_Twits I like the design. Very similar to Pattern of Rebirth and Academy Rector, Noble Benefactor, etc. Very nice. Lotus Grove - Jazaray I just find this card to be a little too powerful. So on your 4th turn, you have the possibility of 8 mana (3 of first 3 turns). At a minium, I suggest added the cost of 3 + Tap to utilize it, or some act of possibly sacrificing lands (like Lotus Vale). In it's current form, just seems too good. Like the idea though. General Khurzog - coasterdude84 Love the theme. Love it, love it. Simple and elegant. Awesome. Standard of numbers - Myy I would like the 3rd ability to be different than pump, but yeah, seems fun. Maybe indestuctible, and switch it with trample. Definitely opens some doors, and seems fun. I think it might just be slightly undercosted though. Living Fortress - LemonMeringue Perfect way to utilize Fortify. And yes, it should be Fortify and not Equip, but seems FUN. The until EOT clause makes it definitely a reasonable card, and not too overpowered because it makes it an Artifact Land Creature, prone to plenty of removal. Undying Sliver - Thanos I would not be surprised if this was created, and with all the sacrifice abilities of all the slivers, this one would be good. ya, i was thinking that and forgot to include the lands being tapped. first time doing this. I have a wicked idea for a legendary creature but can't think of a name, haha

Oops, forgot to change equip to fortify, I originally typed up an equipment, and then changed the card without changing the wording.

Fear is dead, deathtouch seems kind of pointless on something like this, rather it be something like wither or infect. Fear of course should be Intimidate.. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

Good thinking. I just looked at some random old black cards and came up with a quick entry. Wraithling - rockondon Ooh a new color morphling. Granted, I think they screwed up the series when Thornling wasn't a mirror image in the picture, but alas. As for the abilities I love the undying portion, as it evades removal. As for the other two abilities, meh. Fear vs. intimidate is just a small change/problem. Not sure about the deathtouch though. Wither would be pretty cool with undying.

So, Looked at everyones cards. Thanks everyone for their entries. 34 Entries. Lets cut to top 8, just like a swiss tournament haha. Some of these cards were REALLY REALLY hard to cut. Again, this is meant for fun, so please dont YELL at me for not liking a particular point of your card Im not MTG R&D so my opinions may be different.These cards did NOT make the first cut: Spoiled Child ikris I just find this to be slightly too powerful. A fun card definitely a niche card. Great for EDH. Just doesnt do enough for me. Bountiful Fields mattw I like the design, but still find this slightly too powerful since the lands can be tapped. Lotus Grove Jazaray Just too powerful. Wraithling rockondon I just dont know if it DOES enough. I would love a Black and White morphling variant, just dont know if this pops like Morphling. Thornling just killed the series for me, mainly because it doesnt untap. I liked Torchling, but it didnt have much evasion. Standard Of Numbers Myy I like the tribal thing. This would make spirits even better haha. My issue is this: +2/+2 and haste when the 3rd one comes in. Just seems slightly undercosted, maybe by one. This one was a tough one to cut. For sure. Grafted Phoenix Blackmage This one was a tough one to cut. I love the design. But what kept irking me was the three different types of counters, which would get very very confusing. Deranged Scientist Daner Still find this card, without echo, to be really powerful. Laytazorar, The Sanctifier revenger I just find this card way too powerful, even with four colors. Ctcffy Angelofdread No mana cost. Lacro, the Fallen One sharpmaster No mana cost. Stupefy Havoc Demon Just dont think the mana cost is right for being an anti-blue card. Delve Into the Core Tragedy Just think that the hellbent not having a card in hand makes it a little too limited. Charred Skeleton Sovarius I love this card. I really love the design. It just seems to undercosted for me. It just seems too good at its cost. Drogskol Portal totalkoaz Another card with some potential, but I still think its too powerful for its cost. Mishra, Brother Scorned southparker 2002 This was a tough cut as well. The issue to me is the + ability being the Workshop ability. Just seems really, really good. Destroy chocoman I love the simplicity. I do. Engineered Amnesia fluffy cow - Engineered Amnesia 2 schwangzilla Templating might be an issue, but other than that, just kinda meh to me. Sun Wukong, The Monkey King junichi Love the flavor. The problem is, in its original entry, just a little too powerful in my mind. Shubu, the Protector OGB Like the idea, but find this to be a little undercosted, and slightly powerful. Monstrous Caterpillar LaMoriaGali Love the idea, just dont know if it was executed properly. Axis and Allies MagicPatty Love the flavor. Absolutely do. Just dont know if it does enough for me. After the above cuts, I got it down to 12. This is getting tough. Serine, Ice Queen Lord Crovax I find this card to be extremely, extremely balanced. The more I look at it, the more I like the second ability. Seems more agro since at sorcery speed. Win an attrition war. Serras Nightmare Almost Grown Love the theme here. Very balanced. To me, just might not have the wow factor. Deviant Thief BoT Love the card. The more and more I look at it, the more elegant it gets. My only issue is that I believe it to be a little undercosted without you losing life. General Khurzog coasterdude84 Another GREAT design. Love the flavor, love the design. Living Fortress LemonMeringue - We all known it would be fortify, not equip. I really like this idea. Good creature. However, I would fully expect a fortification to have defender, more like Shifting Wall. Undying Sliver Thanos Love this one too. Definitely could see this eventually getting printed, but giving all slivers undying might be CRAZY GOOD. Nissa, Slave of Bolas skizzikmonger Absolutely think this might be the best first round card. Love the balance, love the throwback abilities. Pithing Gnat WeedIan Love the ability for anyone to do it. Unintended Catastrophe enduring ideal Absolutely love this card. Definitely makes the game very interesting. Land of the Lost AGO I really think this card is original, but because its so fresh, I really have no way of determining its power level. Personally, I think it should be Legendary, but alas, dont know what else to make it less/more powerful. Seems balanced since only hits creature spells, and definitely is good with flavor. Jax the Healing Druid toorima99 I really like this card. The problem is, toorima, I did specifically say dont edit your post, even if it is just for the creature type. Pike Sharpener JesusChristMD Love the new take on jackal pup. Getting really nitpicky, but definitely think it should say combat damage. But I digress. Man, this is gonna be tough. Gotta maneuver the list down to 8 from 12. For the next round, there will be a few guidelines. For your submissions, here are the following guidelines. Cards that were previously created for round 1 that would fit the guidelines CANNOT be reused. Card 1: Make an MULTICOLORED Uncommon sorcery/instant with a flashback cost. This has never been done in Magic. Card 2: Make a RARE enchantment with a triggered ability (At beginning of upkeep [Defense of the Heart], when a creature attacks [Lost in the Woods], etc.) Card 3: Make any card you like, any color, etc. There are no restrictions for this card.

Card 1:Psychic Seizure - UB Sorcery Target player discards a card and loses 2 life. Draw a card. Flashback 3UB Will add the other cards later.

I understand. I did edit is asap. I'll take more time next time and make sure I do everything right.Thanks for running this thread. Also if I didn't edit Jax, he would be slightly overpowered imo. Thus adding the legendary part. Also thanks for going in depth as much as you do.
