Hmmm, 1 minute after the announced time and the $160 and $220 options are gone again. I don't think these folks understand just how popular this is. Good for them, though, since they are going to break $100k!

Yeah, I was the first one I think. There's 4 backers for it now. (edit: 4. It's apparently going fairly quickly, even at that cost.) It gives me an incentive to finally get the rest of my crap sorted and sold. I have like $1-2k in cards sitting around that I haven't gotten around to listing on MOTL/eBay.

You know you could have added $400 to your pledge and got the cards with your $160 book right?Granted you can sell the extra books but for others looking to save a buck...

Yeah, I know. What I had actually done was upgrade to the $220 one, and then the $620 one came up so I upgraded to that. I honestly wanted a softcover version for more "every day" use (and for the purpose of letting others look through it and such). I didn't also need a hardcover version, but it doesn't hurt; depending on how it goes I might sell that one off. The collector's edition one I don't want to have handled all that often, especially by people that might not be as careful with books as I am. >.<

Unless I read it wrong, I think the complete set is $480 if you buy it as an add on. $400 US, $480 international, I did read it wrong.

I wonder whether the artists would be sad to realise that probably 80% of the sketches they are going to be making are going to immediately go onto the secondary market.

maybe the standard prints, but I won't be breaking up my set or selling the 6x9 original sketches. They'll go on the wall. I think alot of the books will find the secondary market though. Either way, I doubt they'll mind. It's good exposure for them.

Yeah my sketches are never going on the secondary market unless I lose my jerb and am about to be homeless if I don't ebay them for rent or something.

I managed to get in on the $160 version, and I can guarantee you that what happens with my sketches will greatly vary depending on which artist I get. Amy Weber (I thought she was in on it, now I don't see her?) either of the Foglio's or Drew Tucker will immediately be traded or sold because.... yuck. Richard Kane Ferguson (especially RKF!), Mark Tedin, Mark Poole, Dan Frazier or probably a couple others on the other hand would be kept for sure.

RKF's would fetch a mighty big price! But yeah, no way I part with them.

If you get a Phil Foglio, I know a guy. One of his collection binders is called 'The Foglio Folio'

I'll be keeping my original sketches, too, and framing them if they are remotely cool. Are the standard edition sketch cards actually a good value? I had no intention of getting them, since they are small and mass-produced, but if there is a real possibility that they'll be desirable in a couple years down the road I could wing another hundred bucks.

Signed myself up for a hardcover copy. Can't really afford anything more right now. Will be maddening to wait until Sept. to get this though.--Evil __________________ I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds. Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.

$100,000 reached. More pages! quote: Are the standard edition sketch cards actually a good value? I don't know what their plans are for publishing the books or standard-edition sketch cards beyond the kickstarter project, but certainly if this is all they're producing then it seems like a full set of the cards would be extremely rare in a couple years?

Reading the comment on the Kickstarter makes want to punch a number of these "fans". Is having some manners really that rare? __________________ Collecting signed cards. PM me...Total signed cards: >35'000 my stuff my nearly complete signed sets

You click on manage your pledge and add the money to the total. When the project ends you'll get an email asking what the extra #35 was for, you say playmat.

Seriously. That Tim Winkler guy seems like an obnoxious douche. People need to seriously realize that it's just an offer and they can either take it or leave it. No one is forcing them to buy the book on someone else's terms. It's like people are personally offended that X artist isn't included or that shipping is too expensive.

For people looking for the $160 book with sketches, keep checking, since it's payday it seems a lot of people are dumping it here and there.
