Chances are you're still running basics even when shocks rotate out. We also don't know if there will be a new land cycle in M15 or Khans; if there is it it could very well be something that counts as one of the basic land types (pure speculation).

you mean the one value reprint in the set, urborg? if you don't want them to reprint stuff for people to play, go buy reserved staples. if you actually want to play a decent standard/modern format, get used to the idea that wotc will print whatever they feel like printing. your cards are not financial investments, they are entertainment investments.

You're all forgetting that Thoughtsieze and Hero's Downfall are still things....and Ulcerate, Urborg, Shrine(acts like a pseudo Cabal Coffers), Nighthowler, Grey Merchant, Herald of Torment, New Phyrexian Artifact guy(well, he's good in any color), etc etc...oh yea and they just reprinted Caustic Tar as well to give you back some reach.

I've seen very little to suspect that MBC still wont be top dog, and before people complain, need I remind you people griped for years that Black needed a comeback.....it's Black's time to shine baby.

I will swap at a 1 for 1 rate if you are willing. I don't think this Jace is that bad. Fixing your draw +1 could be better, but it does something, and I like the bounce. I mean, they sorta just reprinted Timetwister. Can't be too upset about this card.

God help us if we get a Damnation reprint...which would make a lot of sense given that Urborg was from that same set and was in need of a reprint.

Don't forget Bile Blight, Drown in Sorrow, Silence the Believers, and Whip of Erebos. I think mono-B will still be a thing, I just think it'll be mono-B aggro instead of mono-B devotion. We are (probably) losing the following cards after all:

Pack Rat
Mutavault
Desecration Demon
Underworld Connections
Nightveil Specter
Lifebane Zombie
Ultimate Price
Devour Flesh
Duress
Doom Blade
Abrupt Decay

I don't think Uborg and Nykthos will be all that great in a base black shell without further spoilers because there's not really a decent mana sink right now for black. Nighthowler also only really belongs in GY decks or as a SB card in mono-B aggro against control to hedge against sweepers. I don't really like Soul of New Phyrexia as he costs an assload to play and he's not very exciting to me, but I suppose he might see play here and there.

I'm not sure we'll see a Damnation reprint in Standard. WotC seems to be removing the "can't be regenerated" clause from stuff recently.
