Agreed. It became essential once I hit mid-NM because I just couldn't find a decent weapon--my base dps was a piddly 200 or so. Now it's 6k and rising (and I'm starting to find my own replacements). quote: I'm only at level 46 with my Witch Doctor (act 3 nightmare), but I haven't done all that much playing. So far, zombie dogs + Sacrifice is the most hilarious and fun thing ever. Mob goes pop, like the good old days with Corpse Explode. Then I get 1-2 dogs back, and pop those. Good times. The only thing I don't like is I got the primary attack I've been using the whole time at like level 6. I can't get into the rest of them. Same with the right click attack, I think I got to the Firebat that works like bone spear (Dire Bats I think), and I haven't changed it out. None of the other attacks seem to be that good. I sorta have always loved to play a summoner in D2, so naturally went with the zombie plan. What other builds are people using?
I loved using a summoner/sacrifice build, but I had to drop it when I started Hell. The dogs just died almost immediately, and didn't do anything for me. I too have kept Poison Darts since level 6--it's simply the best single target attack we have. I had the Dire Bats on right click for a while, but swapped them out for Firebomb with Roll the Bones because I thought the AOE damage was better, and it was just easier to spam them, mana-wise. I also used Locust Swarm (runed to Pestilence) for a while; it was really, really powerful, but I've swapped it out for my current Zombie Bears (the last rune for Zombie Charger). I doubt I'll look back. I'm running the bears along with Soul Harvest (obviously; runed to Siphon) and Spirit Walk (obviously; runed to Jaunt), Mass Confusion (runed to Mass Hysteria for the additional stun; crucial for super-packs!), and Big Bad Voodoo (runed to Slam Dance). My passives are Jungle Fortitude, Spirit Vessel (essential!), and Vision Quest. Right now, I'm capable of soloing Hell if need be (I'm at level 58, nearly 59; currently near the end of Act 3), and generally end up being the person doing the most killing in my party. It involves a ton of kiting, but it's fun to run into the middle of a mob, confuse them, harvest their souls, duck out, increase everyone's damage, then send stampeding bears (which sound and remind me of elephants!) their way. I wish a summoning build was more viable, but I just can't make it work. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. Finally hit 60. It's a little ridiculous now... I'm steamrolling stuff left, right, and centre. I'm in act IV (hell) now, and doing 11k base damage. With all my buffs, I do about 33k, which means what, 77.55k per bear? Gold's accumulating quite quickly with Nephalem Valour, too.__________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. Yea Summoning works in Hell, but soon as you hit Inferno Summoning just stops being viable, everything gets one shot.If any With Doctors want a Summoner Build for Hell, just let me know. Level 60 Witch Doctor myself, with ~ 20-23k dps in current gear... Also if anyone wants to friend me IG let me know .. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

E3 was... not all that interesting this year. Star wars Uncharted- i mean, 1313, looks like it'll be a good old uncharted-like romp.

Well, public games in D3 are certainly worth playing now that they've removed bonus monster damage per additional player. Stuff still hurts, but we dont get insta-gibbed now! Any tanks looking for a DPS wiz to farm act2 or 3 inferno???__________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? It's been almost impossible for me to play D3 for the last several days due to lag. Since everything was working fine for me before, I can only conclude the problem must be on Blizzard's end. =/__________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. Correlation != causation. You cant even get someones login ID from being in a public game with them. The issue is, NONE of them had an authenticator, and gold was selling for nearly $20/million 10 days ago. It was very worthwhile for goldselling sites to bruteforce people. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? Since the last maintenance/patch period the connections have been quite bad for me as well. Basically I would not receive any new info and run around on a frozen screen, then it would all speed up and I would be dead. Hoping this gets addressed in today's maintenance. On the AH, I do like it but it's sad that players need to rely on it for progression. The problem with the AH lies in the interface. SO clunky, why they didn't just port the WoW system over I am not sure.

Yeah I noticed that too, but in D2 I would always have to trade for some good gear to get going in Hell mode. You could do it with crap gear, but it wasn't as easy as getting the appropriate gear.

That was kind of my thought as well. I've never heard of someone getting hacked specifically through a public game by someone else in that game. The other day I was playing on my wizard. I'm just starting nightmare, and was playing through a public game with a demon hunter playing along. I picked up a bow upgrade for him, and gave it to him. I didn't know, but he had a wizard going through inferno and gave me a pretty sick wand after we were wrapping up. I was pretty surprised at that - I'm used to people being completely obnoxious on battle.net now.

hope you don't actually believe that. Kinda stupid to just go w/ the mass hysteria on the forums when the combined IQ of those posters seems to be under 10. Next you'll be warning about duped gold quote: Originally posted by Shadow88: I'm used to people being completely obnoxious on battle.net now.
its a bunch of people who aren't used to the Diablo scene. Give it some time and everyone you run into will be back to being their old selves in no time.I'm just sad that so many people are terrible at this game. DPS classes doing 20k in inferno and wondering why a2 is hard. I don't mind if things get toned down just a tad, but I think the game will be nerfed into the ground so any scrub can roll through inferno. Have to wait for 1.03 and see how that plays out I guess.

I dunno how well you remember D1 and D2, but the combined IQ of the majority of players there seemed like it was well below 10. I actually think the people currently playing are far less moronic. Doubtless that'll change fairly soon, however. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. I don't know. I think the general level of the community in SC has been lowered a bit with SC2. I don't play tons of games, so this is probably not exclusive to battle.net, but it seems like gamers that I run into while playing online are less courteous than they used to be. It could also be that I'm not a kid anymore and don't appreciate it in the same that I used to.

Aaaaaaand the witch doctor is now unplayable until they decide to fix all of its broken skills. Fantastic.Sadly, I don't particularly feel like trying another character. Being unable to legitimately amass enough gold to buy the gear required to progress (much less find it myself) is rather frustrating. I'm kind of sick of all the acts now. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. EliotRIP Ari Legacy UGB River Rock primer. speaking of blizzard, I decided to try out wow again - the last time I played was in early cata, when Bastion of Twilight just came out (I'd been playing since vanilla as a rogue).LFR literally makes this mind numbingly dumb. Even without it, the boss mechanics for non lfr dragon soul are really, really straightforward, but I haven't tried Heroic DS so I can't say as to how much hard those are.

Ugh. I got myself stuck in D3. I moved to Act 4 and can't survive the initial swarm no matter what I try. Oh well, I have Fallout 3 to finish and Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim to redo. :/__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. The swarm of shadow monsters? yea that is fairly impossible without some sort of mass-AOE damage. As a wizard, i find Archon does the job nicely (and lasts about 2 minutes when all is said and done) __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? Now that Zombie Bears work again, I've made my way into Inferno's third act and finally found my first legendary (The Grandfather). The same monster also dropped a useable mojo, which is a nice bonus.__________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. sad you found a level60 legendary before the buff (non retro-active) that's coming. quick, salvage it and list the Fiery Brimstone on the AH, they're worth like 200k+ atm. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for?
