Thanks Junichi, I really appreciate it. MOTL was an important platform for me during my teen years and I fondly look back to the time spent here. Fun fact, archive.org has backed up some of MOTL's forum overviews, and sporadic threads such as this one— https://web.archive.org/web/20060103075507/http://www.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/014828.html The internet is

I do 😂If I remember correctly TunaBoo got into a hissy fit (with Hansolo when he got modded?) and got banned.. Man I wish the forum didn't purge all the content. __________________ WWW.DAVIDWIELAND.NL The complete Shandalar topic

Yup. But it wasn't THAT long ago. He just didn't post much. I believe he was still active in the mid 2000s. I also remember rpitcher being a mod for a while. And Tedman. I miss Jazz. Hope she's ok. Always with her car trouble @potm: Leggo of my leg Nightdog!

Fun fact: It was Dad who laid a huge hammer on TunaBoo twice that got him banned.

Most of my memories involve waiting for the freaking dial up internet to start working. Got cut off so many times. As a kid without a source of income and before online stores really took off, MOTL was a great place to get cards. I got the majority of my p9 cards here on MOTL, as well as dual lands, Shops, etc etc...and super cool things like foil Japanese onslaught fetchlands when they were incredibly hard to find at the LGS. Old school MOTL was the best.

Let's not get into that I still remember that prerelease in Utrecht. I believe it was Mirrodin or something. Good times. quote: Originally posted by Mr. Ruboonia: .. Old school MOTL was the best.
QFT. I can't count the times I sent 1 Stone Rain to Bernieb for a few hard to get commons or uncommons. Only continent I never traded to was Africa (not counting Antarctica). I even sent my MTG-tshirts (Scaled Wurm and The Wretched) to Bolivia one day. Don't know what I got back but I remember I was on the plus side on that one . Good times. I traded for the fun of trading and 'meeting' new people. LOL just remembered in the later days of MOTL I did a small trade on a Dutch website. I linked the guy to my reflist here and he went all holy on me. "Dude you're a legend here". LOL. Shows that MOTL was it. In hindsight I should have asked for more cards at that moment...

Does anyone think football will happen this year in the USA? I can’t imagine a scenario where putting thousands of people together in a stadium is reasonable. Not to mention the players themselves who will be breathing, coughing, etc all over each other. Fantasy football as well...can you imagine the added variance?

I'm not up to date with the corona situation in the US at the moment, but over here I think they're all way overdoing it. with regards to stadiums, that's an issue. Overhere they are allowing only a maximum nr of people as per September 1st ( I believe 2000 max ) but the 1,5 meter rule should be uphold. With regards to NFL, I suppose 5000 could fit in your stadiums (mostly bigger than our soccer stadiums) with this rule and see how it pans out. __________________ I'm a geek, you're a geek. With more than 2.6 mil cases in US, no safety measurement is too much. Considered how contagious covid19 is, I would much rather the government overdoing it than underestimating it. __________________ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻"The enemy has been destroyed, sir. additionally, even if people kept 6 feet apart in the stands they wouldn't in the bathrooms or lines for concessions. we can't even get most people to wear masks over here :-|

The masks suck, but I wear one in public transport (because it is required and they are allowed to not take you with them if you don't wear one, risking a hefty fine as well). All for the greater good. some people wear them in the streets but most of them not. Generally the 1.5 meter rule is uphold but some places you just can't (like supermarket isles). Nevertheless, it's ok overhere. People are generally relaxed now, still most people work from home. Hope it gets better there soon.

I remember telling someone at work that it's impossible to have what looks like a proportional response to a pandemic. If you were suppose to do something and you do the right amount and almost nothing happens it looks like you did too much. If you were suppose to do something and you didn't do enough it looks like you didn't do enough. If you were suppose to do nothing and you did anything it looksl ike you did too much.

Ya, I've been saying that. It's similar to what it's like working in IT and especially in information security. Nobody wants to follow your procedures and when things are running smoothly they assume the procedures are too back. Developers complain they can't produce output quick enough so they complain to leadership. Leadership pressures you to scale back security processes. Then you have a data breach and they are like "how did this happen???"
