Anybody have any info on what artist/s will be attending GP:Malmö? I live about 30 minutes away and there's no info been put up even though there's only a week until it starts. Also, [rage]why do European GPs only get 1-2 artist at a time while the ones in the States get 3-4?[/rage]

Hey Thanos, Oh yeah, I feel your pain. I think I'm in the same boat too - lack of replies, slow turnarounds, cards "missing" or no further contact... sigh. The bottom line is that it's beginning to feel more like work than a fun project, and I'm starting to burn out. I figure I should perhaps wrap things up for a while and take a breather. Of course, I did the same thing a few years back. When I finally got back into the swing of things, I decided to pick up where I left off, which happened to be Glen Angus. It was two weeks after he passed away... Take it easy, Jared

Easy...main market for Magic is the US and most of the artists live there and travelling to Europe is quite a big leap (plus the increased number of events). But maybe you get Daniel Ljungren I understand the general feeling...I myself can't find the time to actively send stuff out (few excepts..THANK YOU TIM!)...2 years ago I sent 10 letters out per week...Now, it's not more than 2 per month. I try to concentrate on the early sets (pre-Masques) and do the newer sets just for fun (and hunt some special cards). __________________ Collecting signed cards. Some of the European GPs do pretty well. Malmo is scheduled at a bad time as it competes with Minneapolis, Anaheim, and the Spectrum Con in Kansas City which looks to have over thirty (30) MtG artists in attendance. My level of activity has actually picked up although I have to say that my success rate has been less than good. I'm always frustrated when I ask permission, the artist grants it, I send, and then nothing. I've got a couple of signed, global projects four years in the doing that I'm trying to finish and every day the cards don't come back is a day without sunshine.

Does anyone have any ideas about having Wayne England sign cards? He's done a TON of cards but I didn't see any contact info for him. When I do a google search it pulls up nothing very useful. Any help would be appreciated.

Talked to Chris Rahn this weekend at Spectrum, and he said that he is still signing via mail, but does shut it down from time to time when he is busy.GenCon update - Dan Scott and Mark Poole said they will attend. Chris Rahn, Franz Vohwinkle, Rob Alexander said they will not be attending. I was also told, by an artist this weekend, that GenCon is out of space for artists. And from the sounds of it artist alley will be smaller this year than it was last year.

Signed cards rarely bring a premium lol. I'm getting premiums on most signed cards I trade/sell off. If that translates to 'rarely bring a premium', then sure.

GenCon 2012 is shaping up to be pretty weak for Magic artist showings. As of April here is the list. GenCon 2012 Attending Artists http://community.gencon.com/files/folders/art_show/entry313873.aspx Drew Baker Jason Engle Ralph Horsley April Lee Todd Lockwood Peter Mohrbacher Mark Poole Dan Scott John Stanko Susan VanKamp Pretty disappointing, considering this is the first GenCon I may be able to attend in the past few years.

Is it just the Non-English foils? I got a bunch of English foils signed at GP: Malmö and they spanned from Coldsnap to New Phyrexia and the only one that was weird was one from Alara Reborn. You could literally see the Sharpie ink floating on top of it.

Mark Tedin offers card signing through the mail on his website. Have any of you guys ever sent anything his way? I have an Alpha Chaos Orb that I'd love to get signed but don't wanna just 'pop' it in the mail.

Just for some heads up, I got an e-mail back from Steve Argyle when I asked if he would sign and here is what I got back: (I have his address too but wasn't sure if I should put it on here.)Hello Paul, Thank you for writing! I would be happy to sign your cards. Just do me a mighty favor and include some return postage. And just a heads up, because of my intense and frantic schedule, I may not get these signed and mailed back to you right away. Thanks again for writing! All the best, Steve
