Sometimes I want to flip a table in disgust. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ They got the flavor right on hundred-handed-one but totally missed on Cerberus. Cerberus should have to be blocked by three creatures ala Two-Headed Dragon.

Nah, passive synergy is fine enough. The red God and the red hammer combo with each other quite well. The white ones less so.

I'm happy to inform that that is literally the exact text on Cerberus. "Underworld Cerberus can't be blocked except by three or more creatures."

Doh, blinded by table flipping rage! It should also be able to block up to three creatures. Totally breaks the color pie but fits top-down.

~Swan Song U Instant Counter target enchantment, instant or sorcery spell. Its controller puts a 2/2 blue Bird creature token with flying onto the battlefield.

I like that. In fact, I like a lot of what has been spoiled so far for Theros.

Like, Spear of Heliod could have its current ability, with an additional "1WW, Tap: Destroy Target Creature" ability if you have a Heliod in play that is a creature. It makes it so that the card is playable by itself (or at least theoretically playable by itself; I'm not sure if I like any of them other than the green one for constructed play) with additional flavor when you have a condition that's difficult to meet. And even then, the second ability needed only to be more powerful than the first, and didn't need to be an i-win effect.Hell, even just SOME additional effect that isn't game-changing at all when the respective god is in play/a creature would add flavor without messing anything up.

I guess I am in the minority. I am glad others are happy with this set

Money wise and construsted play wise I don't think this set is that great. Nothing really works outside of standard. I think RTR spoiled us and we expected the same from this set. Limited play looks fun tho.

Yeah, thought that as well. Only problem is perhaps the amount of misstep running around (rampant, even)

Any one notice the mono color hate wotc splashed into Theros? Destroy target mountain, exile target white permanent, etc all by the same color doing it. I find it....fascinating. __________________ 28th in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona! I offer 3rd party trading services. Email if interested. Your 2008, 2010 & 2012 Siskel & Ebert award winner! I thought they were all strange, except Gainsay. That just kinda makes me happy for another reason.

Likewise. This set has tons of casual gold. Almost every single mythics would not be considered as bulk mythics. 5 gods, 3 PW, new Angel of Despair, Time Walk dude, flavorful Merfolk, fatty green Hydra, Red dragon that's a replacement for Thundermaw Hellkite in Standard. The only ones that are iffy are the Ceberus and the Gorgon, but the Gorgon isn't too bad for casual players either. As for Constructed staples, you have the new Scry lands (yes, these will be staples they are still better than basic lands and Guildgates), Stormbreath Dragon, 3/3 Lion,, Hero's Demise, Thoughtseize, Boon Satyr. Fringe playables are Reaper of the Wilds, reverse FoF, new Utopia Tree, new Savannah Lion and its black counterpart, the Bow, Chained to the Rocks, Gift of Immortality (for Modern Boogles). And then a lot of casual/EDH cards.

I think so too, I stand by my statement that this set will have more bulk than gatecrash

As a one of, yes. Things still die in Legacy. Esper Deathblade uses both plow and kill. As for other decks, you could just block and let your creature die to use the second permanent removal ability.

How, this set has way too many staples, even if they are casual staples to be anywhere near bulk. Unless bulk changed at some point to mean 2-3$ cards, then sure __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

Led Zeppelin alters for this card. Also, I thought it would be funny to alter Polukranos to be Polumalu.

" chris-law said: Honestly, I’m just amazed anyone is surprised by this. It was pretty obvious Nessian Courser was in the set as soon as Nessian Asp was spoiled. Did people think that Creative just accidentally came up with the same fictional place name twice?"Lots of whining to maro about the centaur reprint. Uh, it's a good card?
