Can some one explain to me the Yugioh and Pokemon equivalents to MTG's Standard and what sets are legal and what the rotation is like?

For YGO, it's Konami doing the organized play, I think. Pokemon, I dunno.

I'm sure a "store kit" would explain this if you're trying to set up.

Ahh, what can i say. I dig girls with short hair. Heh heh heh. The time before, which wasn't even that long ago, the girl's girlfriend was with our group even, just eyeballing me all night. I'm a dick anyway so i guess i wouldn't have cared, but i'm pretty sure she was flirting back. Or i was too drunk.
That is exactly what i said on facebook though.

My rants for today:

1) Why must people try to use nouns as verbs when there's a perfectly good verb already in use?

One of the managers asked if I could "take note" of something (okay) and then "action" it (NOT okay).

Seriously?

I guess that's his idea of good managementing. I'll try to bite my tongue and resist the urge to correction him the next time we conversation.

I'm not sure if that irks me more than the overuse of "going forward" when we make plans for the next week/quarter/year.

quote:

"Going forward, we would like to implement this new procedure."

Thanks for clarifying that one, boss. I was really tempted to try to retroactively change the way we used to do things in 2010. Let me just hop into my time machine...

2) I typed "In San Jose, it's displaying the wrong information." in an e-mail. Microsoft corrected me, suggesting that I should have written "its" - no apostrophe. It = the program. It's = It is (displaying the wrong number). I took the hint and wrote, "...it is displaying..."

Apparently Microsoft speaks the same language as upper management and thinks that "displaying" is a noun in this sentence.

I've already had to add a new word to the Excel dictionary so it doesn't autocorrect "H.S.A." (an acronym) to "HAS".

3) My co-workers have not yet mastered the art of Shift+{letter} => capitalized letter. Instead, they've decided to just keep the Caps Lock on all time on every workstation. Unfortunately, that also means I tend to get an obnoxious number of e-mails taking one of two forms:

"yakusoku,

please help me with this problem.

i cant find these parts in the cabinet

do you know where they are.

thanks

co-worker"

"YAKUSOKU,

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM

I CANT FIND THESE PARTS IN THE CABINET

DO YOU KNOW WHERE THEY ARE

THANKS

CO-WORKER"

We also have case-sensitive passwords for certain systems, so it's funny to watch someone type in something like this:

username: MyName
password: MyPassWord

This gets entered as:

Caps Lock "m" Caps Lock "y" Caps Lock "n" Caps Lock "a" "m" "e"

*mouse click*

Caps Lock "m" Caps Lock "y" Caps Lock "p" Caps Lock "a" "s" "s" Caps Lock "w" Caps Lock "o" "r" "d"

Of course, the same people who abuse the Caps Lock key also hunt and peck for each letter.

I guess you would pull your hair out where I work. It's a massive chore to understand a native francophone speaking English that they picked up from people (Sailors) on the East Coast. I think it's funny, and they usually do to, but it makes me wish I actually tried to learn french when I was in school. We usually resort to pointing and grunting. It kinda makes me feel bad, because they usually do know English but it just doesn't come across well, meanwhile I can't say anything in french except "Open the door!", "Close the Window!" and "Can I sharpen my pencil?".

That's nothing. I was talking to my neighbor today and I said "you're" instead of "your" and he DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE! BWAHAHAHA, WHAT AN IDIOT!!!

Quick question:
I just third-partied a sale between two members, am I correct in thinking that I cannot use them as refs, and vice versa?

In a 3rd Party trade, each person is able to get a ref from each of the other 2 people involved.

As I was cleaning up the garage, I came across a bunch of stuff from my old room. Anyone know much about autographed sports memorabilia and if I should try and sell off some of my less-wanted items or how to value my prized possessions for insurance purposes?

I have a question:
I have a close friend who is starting to trade on here.
I am willing to vouch for him and take responsibility for his side of trades. Would other traders need to send to my address or could they send to his and just hold me accountable in the event something went wrong?

Not sure how this is handled.
Thanks!
Tim

*Edit
Thanks for the response Jaz, I was more talking about simulsending with other lower ref traders. I see your point but I guess it didnt make sense for me to have him skip out on larger trades with other new members if i could help.

I'm not sure I understand what you want to accomplish here. He's a new trader and he can go through the same trials as any new member. You shouldn't need to vouch for him.

Thanks,
Jazaray

Can't you just act as any other third party? Both of them would send the stuff to you (or in your friend's case, hand the stuff to you) and you send their ends off to each of them.

The only difference is that you and your friend wouldn't be able to exchange refs with each other, but your friend would still be able to exchange friends with whoever he's trading with.

People have to pay their dues. If your friend doesn't go through the process properly, there's no way s/he can reap the full benefit. I have a friend who has had me trade stuff on here in the past, and he has received nothing for it because he had me do the work. (Are you reading this, Travis? Quit lurking, set up an account and get some refs!)

Also, I don't see why simulsending smaller deals with other low ref members would be that difficult without your help. Unless you're trying to call me a low ref guy, that'd be a bit ridiculous.

Thanks for the response Josh,
I was more talking about the trades that new traders are most hesitant about. As I am sure you are aware, those BTAs are full of new traders posting that they were ripped by a "simulsend" with another new trader. I am more thinking trades between him and other <10 ref traders.
You are not even close to a low ref guy

I think I see where you're coming from, now. In my opinion, it would be better to offer your help in the form of evaluating trades and potential trade partners. I'm thinking of it along the lines of the phrase "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime." If your friend does get ripped on your watch, maybe help compensate for it. My point is, while using your clout will help get trades, it won't help in teaching how to trade.

Hell, do both and you're probably golden
