Paid a week ago, and messaged him recently since he didn't respond saying he shipped. He said he sent yesterday, and I'm willing to wait a couple of weeks for the cards. I just wasn't sure how registered mail from france works or if you can track it, or the tracking number is just wrong?

Awesome. I'm really surprised at how many of the same cards i have in mine so far. quote: Originally posted by stab107: First of all, I would recommend reading wtwlf123's Cube Design article. Knowing your playgroup is essential to creating a good Cube experience. And yes, Sol Ring, Top and Skullclamp have all been hit by the banhammer in my Cube. So unfair, they are.
Thanks for the links, i've got a busy night ahead. I'm feeling pretty impressed with myself after reading wtwlf's article; about 90% of that crossed my mind. But for powerful cards like Top/Ring/Clamp; have you ever considered they wouldn't be too unfair if there were enough unfair cards to draft? That is, add in more powerful stuff to balance it? Or more options to deal with such things? Just curious because i was interested in adding all the most powerful cards (including P9) ever for more intense matches. But i'm also conflicted because it can still be very easy to happen not to draft enough answers/draw them and then just be systematically anally raped. And i'm also impressed with the power levels of some cards when you stick them in any form of limited (be it sealed/draft, cube, edh) so i have a lot of underachiever cards i thought a focus on might be cool. Edit: Just now realized you said yours was a Peasant, so now i understand the Top/Ring/Clamp judgment.

The adult in me was very excited when my tax return was almost exactly what I owed on my credit card. The Magic player in me was not. Maybe if I could actually find a place to play Legacy it would have been a more "fun" choice...

Scopes, is that because of MTGO? I've yet to find an easy way to mitigate the costs of MTGO without playing Standard.quote: Originally posted by Sovarius: Awesome. Yeah, the powered Cubes are going for an environment that feels like constructed Magic. I'm looking for an environment that feels like limited Magic, albeit a bit more powerful. So I chose Peasant as the format and so far it's been really, really fun. There aren't that many swingy bomb cards and deck construction is pretty important. The first build had Sol Ring and it was just totally unfair when one player was two turns ahead of the other. Clamp is too abuseable and Top gets around the variability a little too easily. So far I've been looking for things that cost you to use or have limited uses. That's why there are no Ravnica Signets, makes mana fixing too easy, but the bounce lands are there to support the bits of landfall and they do set you back a little when they come down. Anyway, let us know what you build and how it goes . -Glenn

Clamp and ring were always out. I dont think I have top in my cube, but the worst thing about top is the guy who drafts it is always the guy who plays molasses-slow. Also, I try to make my cube as aggro as possible and top is a control card.

I meant wasting packs as in dropping when they still have a chance at packs. Seen quite a couple of events where around 1/4 of the players dropped.

Dumping an additional 170 people into US Nationals with all these stores holding additional qualifying tournaments really dilutes the grandeur of nationals, imo.

I now know why the auction board is never used. Apparently you can bid on your own items to raise the price. Fail.

It's actually only 115 more. Regional's is now 17 locations with 8 qualifying spots each. Then 165 store locations with 1 spot each. 301 spots total. Last year with locations in every state (with varying numbers of invites given) there were 186 spots.

Has anybody used that BILLMeLater thing on Ebay??whats the deal? they say they'll give me $10 to try it out, is it safe or is there a catch I'm not seeing? Nvm: I found it, its an annual % of 0.2 and if I pay late a fee of up to $35.. not worth it IMO

Troll and Toad has the 9-pocket Monster binders for $25. I've been thinking of getting some too, and I'd love to know if there's a better place.

Just don't leave them in your car or they will get warped. Hehe. Don't ask me how I know that.

Amazon has the ugly gold ones for 22ish. I bought both of mine from Troll and Toad because I wasn't into gold.

Anything ebay pushes is NOT going to be in the consumer's favor

I finally took the plunge into Magic online! (User name: ProfileNotFound) Anybody have any advice to help a newcomer out? What are the best tournaments to enter? Do you have to have packs to enter booster drafts? What is the cheapest way to increase your collection, buy packs, singles, enter drafts or what? Any help would be awesome!

get a solid standard deck, remember the more money you save building a standard deck, the more money you'll lose from tournament entrances/not getting prizes. Once you have a solid standard deck, play in the dailies. Its a good way to come out ahead. Draft if you like drafting for fun, but you can't consistently make money because you need to play 8-4s for that and you will randomly lose to bombs, it happens.

Just had an awesome night. 2HG was the format for FNM and I got a nice Glissa Promo and a bear umbra as the prize for 3rd place (lol). After that we cubed and laughed. Tomorrow I get to play Legacy as a warm-up for next week's 5k in edison.__________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! Why is it whenever I draft at FNM I get mana flood or drought, but when I play anything else including drafting for fun, I dont?Today was 4/6 games where I got either one or the other.

I found a playmat on ebay that is cool but only one person is selling it, i cant find it anywhere else, and it ships from Hong Kong. Was this a real playmat or is it some sort of forgery?http://cgi.ebay.com/MTG-Magic-the-Gathering-Damnation-multi-use-play-mat_W0QQitemZ320658588209QQcategoryZ1345QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp5197.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26ot

What is a "real" playmat? people hire artists to do playmats, The magic show produced their own playmats, I don't really think there is a "real" playmat as such. If you mean "official" playmats, I personally wouldn't mind so much, I hardly think there will be any ramification of playing with a unofficial playmats, in fact i have seen people playing with WOW or Yugioh playmats at events and its fine. Also, kick ass looking playmat. I am almost tempted to buy one now.

Official is deffinintly a better what I was trying to ask. My concern is more about the quality of the playmat and if it is official I will have an idea of what to expect as opposed to some random made in Hong Kong guys Edit: I looked at the description better and it says it is multi use. Other uses include Door Mat, Play Mat, Kitchen Mat, Room Mat, Game Mat, Table Mat, Indoor/Outdoor Use, Decoration, Restroom Mat, Floor Mat, Card Mat, and Living Room
