the set is OK. it blows the dragon is another useless overcosted junk. the angel legend is decent but without shroud it dies pretty quick. The sword is not bad but i dont think it is worth mid 20s$ though

That's hilarious. Wizards must not want them releasing the pictures or something. They were up fine when i posted the link. Edit - I got an email confirming this less than a minute after I posted this reply. It seems wizards was livid that the pictures were posted due to being leaked so they took them down until they receive approval.

Forgive my ignorance but I still don't understand what's so good about the new counterspell. Yes I know it's basically like a free counterspell and most legacy cards are within 1 to 2 mana casting cost but with the card, you're basically waiting for the right cc to be played for you to counter and sometimes it's a card that's not really needed to be countered.

The thing is that in Legacy, many of the 1 CMC cards are necessary to counter. Goblins, with Vials and Lackey. Heck, even High Tide takes a beating with its namesake card and Candlesticks. Top in Countertop. Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Thoughtseize, Wild Nacatl, etc. The list goes on and on.

They really should have made a counterspell that was P/X P/U, counter cost=X. So if you really really want something gone, then sure, just pay a pile of life for it.

yeah but daze can be played around and isn't very effective late game. The new one stops a ton of stuff, StP, Dark Ritual, High Tide, Lackey, Candelabra, Half of the elf deck, Putrid Imp, Brainstorm, ReB, Spell Pierce, Aether Vial, etc etc.. Every deck thats made top 8 at the last few SCG Opens has good to awesome targets for it, it you don't have to play blue or islands to use it. EDIT: oh and it also can be used to counter itself.

Finally a counterspell for swords/path. Daze doesn't stop those. I would be happy to pay U but 2 life in any deck is okay for me. I like creatures. The hatred dragon is good too i'm happy it is rare and not mythic.

At first glance I read "unless controller pays 1", but the way it actually is is awesome (better, IMO). The combo player in me is sad, though.__________________ seancperry on MTGO Standard: Pyromancer Ascension, $30 Quest Legacy: Merfolk, Epic Storm, Dredge, CounterTop Thopter, Affinity

You can only play Daze in blue decks. Agro decks now have a tool to stop STP, Spell Snare, High Tide, Dark Ritual, Thoughtsieze, ect.

Slowing down legacy is definitely the way to go. I think the format would be much more popular and affordable if rogue decks can be 30-40% against the field.

Better for the format, probably. Better for me, no. __________________ seancperry on MTGO Standard: Pyromancer Ascension, $30 Quest Legacy: Merfolk, Epic Storm, Dredge, CounterTop Thopter, Affinity

Legacy isn't expensive enough as prices keep on going up as it is what people are willing to pay.Everyone is always trying to get in as well so people ARE paying.

You are absolutely right, but if top 8 consist of 6 real decks, a spider stompy and a mono white dragon deck, then people aren't gonna be as willing to buy U.sea for 90+.

I would play that at GP:Prov in a heartbeat if it was at least a tiny bit viable!

Taigas are $50+. I want to go from Rb goblins to Rg goblins. You know what I did? I got a playset of Stomping ground for $22 shipped. It still works just as fine. Shocklands are out there people, stop complaining.
