I looked at all of the legendary elves and just picked out the ones that interested me. Marhault would mainly be so that I could play with old stuff that I wouldn't normally use, and to show the locals that it's not all about the commander sometimes.

And this is why, I try to trade with people with over 40 refs, preferably over 50. And no one with a point list.

but sometimes, you gota take a small cut now, to turn a profit later...which I learn at my expense by trading away crap...and then a new set gets released and $1 rares go up 1000%....

Spellskite (I know it is in Exarch/Twin decks, but anything else?)
Surgical Extraction
Dismember
Despise
Beast Within (went from $3, to $1 in a week.)

Also, what commons and uncommons (other then the ones I listed above) are seeing competitive play?

Mental misstep.

The swords are good in legacy. I'm not a pro so i could be wayyy off but as far as i can tell white and red are pretty solid colors to have protection against. Granted that doesn't mean that LS or FI are better somehow, but it's still a sword.

I am really surprised Beast Within didn't stick with a few dollars. I totally misjudged that one i guess. I thought it would be a money uncommon for now, if not a staple in general.
What's a better sub for Beast then? Sure Path and Swords and Vindicate what not.... Is it because green doesn't really run removal in general?

I think the problem with Beast Within..is it gives them a 3/3 to block all your elves all day long. Beast Within is actualy negative-card advantage generating, and I only would ever use in EDH, were a 3/3 REALLY doesn't matter.
