Oversized legendary angels, double sided angel/demon tokens, and black AVR spindown dice.Oversized angels: http://t.co/4Bi1uavg Angel/Demon tokens (angel side): http://t.co/lS1old5G Spindown dice: http://t.co/RwqJbRjM I was hoping for avacyn/griselbrand, but oh well...the tokens are kinda cool but I think WotC hyped this a wee bit too much.

Not yet, these are the contents of the pre-release helvault. There's prize support for 54 players inside each of them, but they won't be distributed until the pre-release on 4/28 and 4/29. EDIT: I should clarify on this point: I am NOT the person who opened the helvault, nor do I know who did. These pictures were originally posted on tumblr earlier today, but were taken down within minutes of me posting this thread. I fortunately had the foresight to download them before that happened. I'm just reposting what someone else posted earlier.

Multiples of everything, those are sealed packs of the cards. We don't know for sure if the whole cycle of angels is in that pack since you can only see the top card obviously, but I dare say it's a safe assumption.

Such a disappointment, but not surprising in the least. This is just another step in which WotC marketing has moved away from legally playable player rewards and more towards purely promotional materials. Whatever idiot convinced the honchos at WotC that MPR and legal-sized promo cards were bad for business needs to be strangled... slowly.

First World Problem:"The free cards and goodies they're giving out at this interesting and unique event aren't good enough." I kid. But in all seriousness, I love getting weird stuff. The giant crappy Aswan Jaguar I got years ago has brought me much more joy than any normal card would. I suppose they seem kinda like a pain, but there's something to be said about breaking the norm. I love that they're trying to do things differently, that's what makes Magic fun to me.

Lol @ 1st world problems. +1000 internets to you sir! I was hoping for alternate art playable versions of different cards at least. I'm happy we're getting avacyn and griselbrand after all because that thematically makes sense. I just wish it was something playable by everyone who attends instead of just edh players.

So much fuzz about the helvault and this is what's inside. This certainly won't boost pre-release attendances lol

worse then that, no one locally even uses the oversized things. They're just too big and inconvenient to pack around and make table space for. Pretty terrible imo.

You've got to feel bad for the store owners. Wizards hyped the crap out of this, and the contents are terrible. Some stores are charging extra to play in their Helvault events, and people are not going to be happy (the majority) with the crap within. I'm not going to go now, but probably would have if it had something playable. This is NOT a good replacement for MPR.

If a store is charging extra for the Helvault events then you should find another store. If that's the only store around for miles then you should complain to the store. The stores get the Helvault for free. They shouldn't be charging anything extra unless they're also adding packs to the prize pool.

Assuming it is not damaged after being opened, I will probably take the Helvault, just cause I can. __________________ MOTL's Most Likely to Play in the Pro Tour - 2007, 2008, and 2009 (My 2008 Nationals) The Official Tower Magic Facebook Page

They use it as a promotion to drive tournament participation, and a believe it will, but the disappointment for me is so high. I'm certainly glad I found out the contents before hand because I don't really see the prerelease as something worth playing in at this point. I probably will play in one that I feel offers plenty of suckers for trading and unlikely to be overcrowded.

What did you expect foil promo Black Lotus? I like what's in it and its what I would have expected Promos that are useful with the lore of the storyline not free cards to add to your standard deck.
