I'd like to know what they're actually thinking they are going to get for $1,225.00, I'm really curious.

He did put up a Q&A but it's still hard to understand what it's about.quote:
Q: the description of the the all power nine auction is a little confusing. it is for the power nine correct?A: yes of course
Which is incorrect. Both lots have the same description but one lot is NOT for the power nine. Another bidder has it figured out and gets the right answer: quote:
Q: So to summarize the additional explanation : the auction is on a random lot of 15 cards which work the following individually : - either (50% probability) you get the power 9 + 6 rare cards. - either (50% probability) you get other 15 rare cards consisting in : dark confident and the remaining listed on the auction. I you bids and wins both auctions, one wins both lots (power 9 lot + the other 15 rare lot) Correct ? Aug-19-12 A: Yes is correct
It's still very easy to get scammed if you try to win both. This guy most likely has a friend that auto-bids higher anyway, so they rake up $2k for 15 random rares worth about $300.

Of course he doesn't. In auction #1, he shows the P9 all graded by PSA, then he added pictures of the Walk and Pearl graded by Beckett.

use the funds before a paypal case gets filed. There is some legitimate amount of time someone should wait if they believe they are actually going to receive the item and in that time the paypal money gets spent. At that point it is up to the authorities and such, etc etc. Its why you have links up above of some dude buying cash but at the rate of $500 for $612 or something like that.

I don't know anything about these cards, but I know what edition they are and how to pull the best ones...."IF YOU ARE GOING TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE YOU DIDNT FEEL LIKE YOU GOT YOR MONEYS WORTH, DO NOT BID/BUY...I DONT KNOW THE PRICES ON THESE CARDS INDIVIDUALLY." But I also sell dual lands and beta forks... http:/ /feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=dirtytinker2000&&_trksid=p4340.l2560&rt=nc&iid=261084841181&sspagename=VIP:feedback&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller "I am not a professional grader, but the card store says it's in EX condition, whatever that means."

This lot looks ok. I see a bazaar, library, candelabra, and an underground sea, but everything else combined is probably worth like $20 and bidding is already over what those four cards are worth. Funny that people who know nothing about the game can sell stuff for more money than people who know what they have.

Anything with a story and the best card on top is a scam, bottom line.

Yep, that guy looks like another scammer. I wonder how often stuff like this happens. You would think paypal would be more vigilant and not allow the use of these funds when there is a huge spike in activity, like someone with a couple of $10 sales a year all of a sudden selling 10k/day. It's them who will be on the hook for all these fake sales and I imagine it's almost impossible for them to recover the money. It looks like the last guy got away with around 10k in loot and this one has sold even more than that.

I'm currently working on getting my money back from this seller for a fake Underground Sea, so yeah, report everything this seller puts up. He says he refunded me, and it's just "taking some time"; he said to at least wait until end of September, conveniently after the deadline to get money back via eBay has passed.

Brd has now sold 5xAlpha Black Lotus. He's well over 10k. All that remains is the shopping spree

Ha, no way! I escalated the case to eBay customer service today, a week after claiming that he sent the refund. He's on their record as admitting that it's a fake; the eBay listing lists the card in Hong Kong despite him being in Italy; I don't think I'll have too much trouble. I *am* thankful that he didn't send the card, though; basically, I asked him to check if it was a fake and that if it were, I'd know and get my money back and he'd be out shipping costs from Italy, he said "fake? there exist fakes? I had no idea! Let me check" and then "I checked, and it's a fake! so sorry, who knew?"

Got my money back via eBay Buyer Protection and left negative feedback for him (he's changed his user name); of course, he's asking for a retraction of the feedback.

When it comes down to it paypal doesn't really have you covered. If they can't get the money from the seller, they probably won't give you yours back willingly. The only protection you really have is making a chargeback with your credit card.

I dunno, they covered me just fine despite the seller trying to avoid giving me the money. I've never had a problem getting money back from Paypal when it was necessary.
