I remember having a Pet turtle when I was a kid, and I loved having it, hopefuly someone could help me out here on turtle information. I'm looking for a turtle that can spend the majority of it's time in doors since it is not likely that I will be able to have an outdoors area built for it. Since the thing needs to stay inside I need it to be of a species that doesn't grow bigger than 3-5 inches. And finally I'm not loaded, so I can't afford to spend much more then like #150 on it and the basic set up for it. Anyone have any experience with this, I'll keep on looking up info for it, so Pyr0, no www.letmegooglethatforyou.com, K?

I had a red ear slider for several years, and I highly recomend a box turtle, or another dry land turtle. Sliders are water turtles and very high maintenance. Box turtles require a litter scoop, an ocassional sand change, no water heater, and no water filter. As for an aquarium to keep it in, WalMart sells them pretty cheap. I think I payed around $10 for the 2nd one that I had to buy (nothing like having to dry carpet with a large fan because the bottom pane of the turtle's aquarium broke).

Unfortunately for me, I was on the train. 2:37 PM yesterday, I get a second note saying that my classes have been dropped. 4:00 PM yesterday, the (physical) mail comes and there's a check from SJSU to reimburse me for my tuition already paid. So much for waiting, huh? As it turns out, what happened is that when I enrolled back in December (and paid), I was dropping and adding classes and somewhere in there, I was registered as a part-time student. I paid the fees in full and never thought about it again, when they sent reminder notices to everyone in late January/early February that the deadline for payment was soon. Fast forward to today and the bursar's office tells me that I need to get a form and get the permission of all my professors to re-enroll in my classes. That's fine for all but one of my classes, a ONE unit social dance class - 2 units of physical education are mandatory for graduation which was supposed to be in May of this year; now, maybe not so much. The word from on high (the dept. chair) is NO adds for any reason. My professor for this class wrote a nice note explaining that I've been in class form day one and it was just a fluke that I got dropped and am just trying to reinstate my status as a student in her class. The ironic thing is that if I don't get permission from the department chair to re-enroll in this class, that will bump me down to the status of part-time student. I'll have to pay the original tuition I paid in December and be where I was 2 days ago, only without the one class. (And I won't get to graduate, being ONE unit short.) Wish me luck. I'm depending on the department head actually using his/her discretion and realizing this is a strange corner case that deserves some leniency, rather than having a strict zero-tolerance rule across the board, when the spirit of the rule was to prevent students from starting classes one month in with no experience. Yeah, right. And I might as well wish that politicians would vote to reduce their pay to help with the sagging economy. Sadly, this is just one of a number of ways that this same university has managed to make things difficult for me with bureaucracy like this.
