Well, Tom and I are currently jobless. Thursday was our last day of work. We got kicked off the Obamacare insurance, as well as the foodstamps (that was last month, I think). I'm very happy that my kids are now old enough to understand financial difficulties and are taking the fact that there really won't be a Christmas this year very well. Amala said that all she wants from us is the book Gone Girl and TJ went further in saying all he wants is my signature on a waiver to go and get an earring, which he will pay for himself. TJ is being extra understanding as his birthday is Christmas Eve as well. It will get better, won't it? Thanks, Jazaray __________________ A Plastered Dragon Original Limerick: There was a nice lassie named Jaz Many wished to have what she has, A delicate face, A soft warm embrace, And a whole lot of bedroom pizzazz.WeedIan: Jazaray is like MOTL's Mom. I'm sorry that you and Tom are jobless and as for Obamacare, reapply. Your status has changed. As for Christmas, if the focus of this holiday season is on the financial aspects, then I think you may be missing the point. I am truly sorry about your financial hardships that only seem to get worse as time goes by but try to focus on the positives in your life so you may gain perspective. You have your health and your kids know real love and you are blessed to have their unconditional love returned to you, not for the material items you give them on someone else's birthday but for the love you show them every day of their lives. Believe it or not, you have it better than 90% of the rest of humanity Jaz. With a little perspective, this could be a Christmas to remember where your family only grows closer out of the shared moments without the distraction of material possessions. If you must give something, make your gifts this year! You'll have to forgive my ocassional attempts at zen buddhist ramblings. Best wishes for the happiest of holidays Mom! **edit** Oh yeah, to your question...define "better".

When I say there "won't be a Christmas" I am only referring to the material aspects of the holiday. We will, as always, be spending it with our family. I have an appointment in the morning with HeathSourceRI to see if they can do anything for us, so here's to hoping! As for "Having my health", heh. Not so much. But my kids do, and my husband does and that's good enough for me. Got any ideas on what to make? Better.. as in not such a struggle. Happy Holidays to you too Thanks, Jazaray __________________ A Plastered Dragon Original Limerick: There was a nice lassie named Jaz Many wished to have what she has, A delicate face, A soft warm embrace, And a whole lot of bedroom pizzazz.WeedIan: Jazaray is like MOTL's Mom. sorry, the best we can hope for is to be loved for who we are. Then you die. I wish I could say it gets better but even when it does, that is only temporary too. It is what you make of it. You'll be ok if you decide that you will be and focus on what is truly important. I could go on and on about how lucky you are to not be born south of the border or in Africa or in the Ukraine but unfortunately most people don't have that perspective. Be strong and be determined to be happy regardless and you will be. I do truly hope it gets better by whatever standard you use to define it.

I was taught everyday you wake up, swing out your arms....if you don't hit wood...it's all good **** happens, and it sometimes sucks, but your kids will learn a valuable lesson from this...and learn to appreciate the time you've spent as a family. If anything else, it will make it so when they get older they will work their butts off to do better.(not that you've doing a bad job)
I've seen how hard my mother worked as a single mom....it sucks sometimes, but you make the best of it. If anything it's made me realize that if I ever have children I'll work even harder to make sure they have the things I didn't. Maybe it wont get better for you, but maybe it gets a little better for your kids, and a little more for your grand kids, and etc etc.....You're just laying the stone work for a strong family foundation. You seem to be doing a good job, you're kids seem to know whats up...and that's really the best to hope for. ...and don't forget to re-apply for Obamacare considering your status has changed.
And maybe for Xmas we can all get our wish, and Obamacare care go **** itself. My mother was forced into that, too.....complete garbage. She went from not being able to afford healthcare to being made to pay for an "affordable" healthcare but will get punished if I don't pay it bc she still can't swing what they think is reasonable monthly for her....I mean whatever, I'm paying a lot of the bills around here as is.... ok, enough complaining....I truly wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, Jaz. I hope it does get better for you

Just had my daughters 2nd birthday yesterday. She had a blast! It was a Bubble Guppy birthday party and her favorite presents by far was her toddler drum set and Fischer price basketball goal. Now that's back in my head, thanks. Bub-bub-bubble, gup-gup-guppies... I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old, so we watch a lot of Bubble Guppies. As far as little kids shows go though, that's the best one. That and Octonauts.

My daughter is obsessed with those little fish people. It's one of the better kid shows though. Dora was driving me slowly insane. She also likes Doc Mcstuffins but that's not too bad. I like how it has a positive female character. EDIT: The only problem I have with Bubble Guppies is when I get caught accidentally singing a bubble guppy song to myself in public. Awkward lol.

It's all paw patrol and anything minions here at my home. It looks like I've managed to dodge the shows with songs. Edit: I'm wrong I forgot about the happy song. Luckily he has a minion headset.

What, you don't go around singing the "PAW PATROL!" theme in your head? And c'mon, anyone with a kid between the ages of 2 and 8 has to know all the words to "Let it Go." Dora sucks. Seriously, it's painful to watch. I root for Swiper every episode. Bubble Guppies is actually pretty good.

Yeah... I did that. We still don't qualify for the free health care. Funny, isn't it? Meh. I've had a tough year too but I keep rocking.

My daughter and I made an agreement this year that you might find interesting. We agreed to only give gifts to each other that we built ourselves. I'm giving her two things - a book I wrote called Seahaven (a fantasy novel about a culture of people that live on the ocean floor) and a board game that is based on the book. Each square on the board has dozens of neat underwater pics of fantasy monsters and whatnot. The game is played by 1-4 players (all characters from the book) and one of the player cards has my daughter's face photoshopped onto it. She is going to go crazy over it. Printing the book will be about $15-$20 but the boardgame will only be a few bucks to print off on thick, glossy paper. I can make the image for the game available on photobucket if you want. It violates copyright infringement like 30 times but its fine for personal use. I'm still working out some of the rules for it. quote: Originally posted by Skwirlnutz:

Hurry up and get a webcam so I can curbstomp that same, tired old glissa deck that you keep rebuilding. and btw, making the same deck over and over is not nostalgia, its a lack of imagination. __________________ | ~~ The STFU ~~ _l""|"\__, |~~~ TRUCK ~~~ _l'_|'_|_|) |(@)(@)""**|(@)(@)"**|(@)

We don't even have cable and somehow my 5-year-old found out about Paw Patrol (damn 4K classmates). We've had the DVD from the library like three times already. I guess it's a change from the constant stream of requests for Littlest Pet Shop or MLP on Netflix. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

... Can I read the book instead? Thanks, Jazaray

This place is grown toxic over time. No saving it. If the owner won't relinquish some power all is lost. I also thought the search was going to be updated by a mod. Seems we were sold snake oil once again.

Why don't we just make a new site with a slightly different name? "Magic Online Trading Club" (MOTC) or "Magic the Gathering Trading League" (MTGOTL). Sell some ads to whomever to cover the hosting costs.
