It would befuddle me if Leshrac came out of the woodwork to sue someone because of copyright infringement over his dead website. If you made a new site you could just grant the original refs for the well know members here to get the site started. I have no web making knowledge but I am sure people would be willing to donate to help make one.

Presumably we could buy the site's name from Leshrac for a dollar but by appearances he doesn't want to give up use of the site. So we change the name. There's no copyright on a website that offers a forum for trading magic cards. Best to use a name that's different enough, obviously, though. "Magic Trading Zone" or something.

As long as you don't call it MOTL or use the MOTL logo or a knockoff, you'll be fine. I'm sorry about what has happened to MOTL. As a moderator, I have basically no say in the site's running, and no way to update things in any way. I apologize nonetheless--it's very frustrating and disappointing, and MOTL was such a great site during its heyday. MOTL was truly the best online Magic trading site, by a huge margin, and I made an insane number of deals on this site. Hopefully someday things will get better on here. __________________ Selling all my cards. Want anything?

MOTL's popularity is waning rapidly due to administrator ambivalence. Neal was supposed to help fix the site but he has only plastered himself all over the home page.
