You should go back and re-read them, and then we can speculate on whether or not Roland ever reaches the tower.

I'm a fool. A complete and utter idiot. I spent 10 bucks on a first edition copy of "The Wastelands" on Ebay, then I spent 7 bucks getting it mailed to me priority. I'm too excited to wait for it to arrive, so I go the local used book store to see if I can find a cheap copy to get started on. They have FIVE copies of the book I just spent 17 dollars on there for only 7.50 each. Five freaking copies!! So I buy one, and a copy of the "Wizard and the Glass" (book 4) for the same price. I spent 17 bucks on a book I no longer need in any way, shape, or form.

On the upside, I've got 900+ pages of hot gunslinger action to enjoy

I'm still reading The Scions of Shannara and I'm totally hooked. Anyone who likes sci-fi/fantasy should check it out. Author is Terry Brooks.

There's a quadrilogy before this book and I wish I would have read them first but it's okay, I still understand everything fully (each book is self-supporting thank god).

Has anyone read Robert Jordan books? Is he any good?

Also, for those of you who have ready Terry Brooks, have you also read the Magical Kingdom of Landover series? Is it as good as Shannara?

I didn't read the Landover series, I heard it wasn't as good, and I personally grew tired of the Shannara series during I believe it was the 4th book. They get rather repitive and predictable. But they were rather entertaining up until that point.

I think I read those when I was around thirteen. Kekeke...not implying anything Han :-*

Edit - I mean it's impressive that you read them at 13.

What should you be implying? That's impressive since most books are 400-1,000 pages.

I haven't read any Robert Jordan books personally, but I've heard they are very detailed and well written.

as for Landover, they are light and a bit humorous, but I would save them for after you've completed overything Shannara.

If you've enjoyed Scion's....you will love Sword of Shannara - absolutely best book I have ever read. I think after they complete Lord of the Rings they should fire up Shannara on the big screen...it'd be interesting to see an interpretation.

On the line of good fantasy books, there is a 6 or 7 book series by Terry Goodkind - starting with The Wizards first rule.

Excellent also, I bombed through these like a madman last year and even sprung for the hardcover price of the newest one....I just couldn't wait.

Oh yeah, Terry Brooks has just released a new Shannar book as well...wish I wasn't broke

Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper case closed by Patricia Cornwell

Awesome book that tells the story about who Jack the Ripper was and explains the whole case with lots of facts and background information. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes learning about crimes and mystery.
