I just started reading "The Gathering Storm" by Kate Elliot. It's book 5 in the Crown of Stars series. Had it for only three days, read about 200 pages a day. It's simply amazing. Hopefully I will finish it soon so I can start reading the rest of the series over again.- Matt __________________ Matt Tobia AIM: TobySU03 Ref-list #3 Refs in Syracuse, NY After the battle, an eerie silence gripped the forest. I've been reading Roald Dahl's "Tales of the Unexpected".It's a collection of well-written, semi-short stories, each with a nasty surprise for one of the characters at the end. Such a fantastic book. The man is surely a genius. I recommend it to all of you. __________________ When you think 8th foils, think-SerraBanger He wants 'em! Just finished Dune: The Butlerian Jihad this morning. Great book, but didn't address some of the things I was expecting it to. I am anticipating yet another prequel book to cover more of the ground here. Herbert and Jordan are doing an amazing job of expanding on the vast Dune universe and detailing the stories that are hinted at in Frank Herbert's original works.Next up, is The Morgawr by Terry Brooks to finish up the "Voyage of the Jerle Shannara" series. I am SO behind on my reading right now...should have had both of these books finished months ago. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! :-)

If you're interested in science (actual science) I can recommend 'Science of Discworld'. It switches from reality to a discworld story (per chapter), and it really describes a lot of today's science, even though it's quite mind-boggling on occasion. And the swapping from fiction to reality is a demanding job too (for a foreigner anyway) but it's a good read. Currently I'm reading The Hobbit illustrated by Alan Lee, which is again an excellent piece of work. __________________ rationalist · metalhead · perfectionist · godless · happy«I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.» -J.R.R. Just finished American Scream by Cynthia True. Pretty good bio of Bill Hicks. Dragged in parts, but good nonetheless. Now I'm re-reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy until I can get to the bookstore and buy something new.__________________ Doing my best to make sure stupid people don't take over the world.Forget all the good stuff I've had listed here before, Trade me KOBOLDS!! I too have most of them, including the original hardcover of The Colour of Magic! I picked it up at some Library Sale or something... the satire in these books is stupendously rich! They may look like kiddie novels, but they're adult-oriented. While we're recommending books, though... Anyone read any Guy Gavriel Kay? The Sarantine Mosaic is probably the best piece of fantasy I have ever read. Kay is defintiely one of Canada's top novelists. __________________ Evil-doers!
