I got that Roald Dahl "Switch Bitch" first edition from that lady on Ebay the other day.

It's fantastic! I want to share a passage with you guys about Uncle Oswald, a charming and seductive woman-izer (my new role-model). Here's a taste-

"But you can't really like spiders?" the women visitors would say to Oswald as he displayed his collection.
"Oh, but I adore them," he would answer. "Especially the females. They remind me so much of certain human females that I know. They remind me of my very favorite human females."
"What nonsense, darling."
"Nonsense? I think not."
"It's rather insulting."
"On the contrary, my dear, it's the greatest compliment I could pay. Did you know, for instance, that the female spider is so savage in her love-making that the male is very lucky indeed if he escapes with his life at the end of it all. Only if he is exceedingly agile and marvelously ingenious will he get away in one piece."
"Now,
Oswald!
"And the crab spider, my beloved, the teeny-weeny little crab spider is so dangerously passionate that her lover has to tie her down with intricate loops and knots of his own thread before he dares to embrace her..."
"Oh, stop it, Oswald, this
minute!" The women would cry, their eyes shining.

This book is just so damned amusing

I've seen that guy on PBS, he's terrific. I'll have to see if I can find that book used.

I'm reading something equally intelligent- Howard Stern's "Private Parts"

Oh, come on!! It's a classic in every sense of the word. You should read Red Dragon too, I think it's ever better than Silence.

My friend loaned me Ray Bradbury's "the martian chronicles", so I'm about to start that one.

There's a book to Fight Club? Was it written before or after the movie was made? Who wrote it? Is it any good?

Any other people read it?

I don't have it with me, its at work at the moment. It belongs to Iakae, its very similar to the movie. It gets a little more in depth about Project Mayhem.

Yeah, it was pretty weird. I read the introduction after I finished it, and it said each chapter was published in "saturday evening post" as a short story previously. It made a lot more sense after I read that

And the author of Fight Club is Chuck Palahniuk. If you liked Fight Club (which I have yet to read) I recommend the book "Survivor" by him. I thought it was great. It's about this boy who is raised in a bizarre christian suicide cult, and he leaves at age 15, right before they all commit suicide. Then he becomes a huge media superstar because he's the last one alive. Very cool book.

I'm re-reading Steven King's "the Gunslinger" now.
