Just finished The Two Towers...Now I'm debating whether to get and read Return of the King or to reread all the Dark Tower books in anticipation of Song of Susannah.

Another Dark Tower junkie! I'm going to re-read Wolves of the Calla before Song of Susannah comes out, at the very least.

Can't wait can't wait

just read Eric Ambler's The Mask of Dimitrios--again.
Definetly one of my favourite books of all time and well worth picking up if you like a top drawer thriller

I know what you mean...I was ecstatic when I found out that they moved the release date of the last two books up a few months each.

I just reread the whole Amber series by Roger Zelazny.

If you are a fantasy fan, this this is really an amazing book. JR Tolkein might be the grandfather of fantasy, but Zelazny was the grandfather-in-law. He's that good.

Just finished Stuart Maclean's newest Vinyl Café novel...

Well, it was great (ie: hilarious) at first. Then it started lagging when he shifted from Dave's perspective. Morley had a moment or two. And then it was all downhill from there.

This news makes me a very happy man. I saw a lot of reviews on Amazon that were saying King had lost his mind with the turns that WOTC had taken in the story, but I loved it from beginning to end. COMMALLA!!!

Yes, it is indeed a long series. "The Wheel of Time" is also a very good series. And yet, Guy Gavriel Kay writes far better fantasy, if you're looking for some good fantasy. In fact, were it not for Kay and Pratchett and, to a certain extent Jordan, I wouldn't be reading fantasy any more. There's just too much bad fantasy out there. And a lot of it starts with Tolkein. (Oh man, I'm gonna put my crash helmet on now... this'll be like puttin my head through that window...)
