Is sneak attack a cube worthy card? Or is it only EDH worthy? __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

eh, I once tried sneak attack in my cube. It's really kinda lack-luster. There are better options, like any decent creature.

Show and Tell. And Emrakul. Check out the Legacy deck here. It's stupidly good. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. Eliot RIP Ari Legacy UGB River Rock primer Click here to comment

progenitus does the job better, as it can't be removed. It also does the same total damage with sneak attack.

too bad phage wasnt "If she isn't put onto the battlefield from your hand you lose the game" that would make me so happy, then EVERYONE would use her in that deck

SCG buys most foreign cards at the same rate (Only P3k and such are different). I'm not sure about the practices of other sites.

Went to a standard tournie today at Die Hard in Pawtucket today. There were 21 people there, and you needed to place in the top 8 to go on and try and win for the faction thingie. I played a version of Kuldotha Red. My first match up was with a deck that played vengevie, gideon, Thron and bonehorder. I drew SOOOOO much land the first game it was ridiculous! Lost that game. However, I won the next two games in like.. 3 turns each. Second match up was with the same deck, just with a couple different cards (like, Squadron Hawk and DoJ). I got such horrible hands, and I made a couple bad plays (Devastating Summons when it wasn't the "game winner") I lost that match 0-2. Third match was an all black infect deck. I felt really bad for this guy, his deck just wasn't coming out at all. Land, land, land.. Ick. Although, the first game was pretty funny... I went first, mountain, goblin guide, attack. He reveals an Inkmoth Nexus. Second turn, attack, he reveals an Inkmoth Nexus. Third turn, attack... guess what he revealed? Yup, a THIRD Inkmoth, in a freaking row!!! I won that match 2-0. Forth match was a mirror match. And again, I drew so much land! I smoked him the first game, and the second game would have been mine, if I had just pulled the bushwacker instead of the land (bushwacker was the card after that stinkin' land) Lost the next game pretty horribly. Lost that match 1-2. At that point in time, I didn't think I had a chance to get top 8, but I asked the store owner and he said there was still a chance for me. Fifth match was a black/green infect deck. Not much to say about it, I won those with ease and rather quickly. 2-0. I did end up making top 8. I was pretty happy (Yay foil, full art Black Sun Zenith!) It was now down to single elimination. Yay. My first match for this was against a jace/gideon deck, which was also being played by the 3rd ranked player in the state (yay). Surprisingly for me, I really smoked him the first game. Even with him drawing two Gideon's. Second game, I didn't really draw into anything that useful. Turn 1 guide was good, but it gave him land, and that just helped him too much (Stupid Colonade..) The last game was pretty intense. Everyone else was already done and they were all standing over us, watching to see if the chick was gonna win. (I was the ONLY female there, btw) I got going pretty darn good and got him down to 4 before he even did 1 point to me. Then he DoJ. I cast some more creatures, he DoJ'd again. I decided to try the devastating summons again (WRONG MOVE). He DoJ'd. Yes, Again. He then proceeded to stomp all over me with that colonade, a sword of mind and body and a lifestaff. I couldn't even pull out two freaking lightning bolts!!! Or a bolt and an arc trail. Or a creature I could cast! So, I ended up getting 3 packs of Scars. I pulled a Genesis Wave, Mindslaver, Engulfing Slagwurm and a Foil Carnifex Demon. *Shrug*. All in all, I had a lot of fun and I met some really nice people. Nderwife and I hit up Game Day yesterday. I ran Kuldotha Red to shake things up since I've never played it before and didn't want anyone to run too much hate against me. We ended up having 8 show, so no one was playing for BSZs, at least. Nderwife was set up with a Phyrexian aligned deck, and mine was Mirran, so we were both playing for the promo cards. After the first game of round 1, playing Knights, I was pretty concerned, since I lost on turn 6 after seeing only 3 creatures and 1 Kuldotha Rebirth the entire game. Game 2 paired a reasonably good hand with him not ever getting the 4th Plains he needed for a DoJ. Final game, on one of my attacks, I completely forgot that I had 3 artifacts so my Opal was active and left one of my Contested Warzones untouched, costing me 3 points of damage, leaving him at 6 and me with a Bolt in hand. He cast DoJ, and it became a game of draw-go, with an occasional spat of him casting a creature and me killing it before I finally drew into an unanswered Rebirth to swing for the win. Round 2 was against the store's on-duty worker, so the game was slowed quite a bit due to people wanting to do silly things like buy video games. He was running a Black/Red control deck that promised to give me fits. He won game one fairly quickly. Game 2, he had to mulligan, then kept a sub-par hand, and I was able to overwhelm him before he could get enough land to really hurt me much. Final game, I got a great draw and was able to drop enough creatures fast enough that I could win despite the Ratchet Bomb for 0 that took out my Ornithopter, Memnite and trio of Rebirthed Goblins, leaving me with 2 Contested Warzones and some 1 CC creatures before he could cast the second Ratchet Bomb in his hand. I really feel bad for him, as this is the third straight matchup where I've beaten him more due to luck than anything else. His decks are good, but he just always seems to have to mulligan multiple times or draw poorly or other such issues. The finals matched me up against Nderwife, so one of us would win the whole thing. Three people had signed in as Phyrexian-aligned, but early into round 1, one of them realized that they had missed the Mirran symbol on their Ratchet Bomb, so he was out of the running, so the 2 Phyrexian promos were already set early in the day, but there were 4 of us running Mirran decks. Looking at the standings going into the finals, a loss would possibly put me at 3rd out of those, so I was hoping for the win, but Nderwife's infect deck worried me. Game one, she had to mulligan twice, and still kept a fairly poor hand. A fairly good hand for me gave me the win on turn 4. When I looked at my hand for game 2, I had to think long and hard. I had a Memnite, Chimeric Mass, 2 Kuldotha Rebirth, Goblin Guide, Goblin Warcaller and Goblin Bushwhacker. I decided to take the gamble, as I just needed 1 land to get me into the meat of my hand, and could probably at least be in the game until I got a second land plus I had a game to give if needed. My 3 draws were Mox Opal, Mountain, Mountain, and I had the game won on turn 5. I like this deck. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. Is Court Homunculus not awesome with Memnites and Ornithopters in Tempered Steel?? I'm still working on a post-Lorwyn Extended W/u Tempered Steel, very slowly. Can anyone think of and give me examples of standard god hands that allow for turn 4 (or god forbid, turn 3) wins? Just out of curiosity, mostly, but i'm considering messing with a deck like that and trying it at a tourny. T1: Swamp, Vampire Lacerator T2: Attack for 2. Swamp, Vampire Lacerator, Pulse Tracker, Demon of Death's Gate with alternate cost. T3: Mountain, Assault Strobe, Demon swings for 18. Or on turn 4 without strobe. T1: Forest. T2: Forest, Blight Mamba T3: Forest, Giant Growth, Groundswell, Primal Bellow. Swing for 11 Poison. Can also use r/g lands and assault strobe/groundswell. Black with Vampire's Bite, too. edit: Oh, and i got to thinking about this after being inspired by Nderdog's comment about his 4th win, so here's another. T1: Mountain, Memnite, Memnite, Mox Opal, Kuldotha Rebirth (pop opal), Goblin Guide. Swing for 2. T2: Swing for 7. Mountain, Kuldotha Rebirth (pop a Memnite). T3: Goblin Bushwhacker kicked, swing for 13. Or Contested Warzone in lieu of Bushwhacker. __________________ If you can make/print proxies, i will trade for them. Also looking for Microprose MTG computer game. Will trade for that or consider buying for cheap. Please pm

Is mono-white viable in current t2? Something like knights + bladehold + sun titan or something? The best part is that they are all cheap cards.
