I just see them as regular nerds who happen to to do this right. If anything, the pros in this game aren't much different than the regulars. You need to be more bold and say something like this: Sword of Vengeance > Sword of Body and Mind.

I'm going to call it now:After the next set is released, Sword of {Red} and {White} (Order/Chaos? Heart/Soul?) will be played in multiple formats and will be good. I want credit for this first.

None of you were around for this, but back in 1993, I met a man named Richard Garfield who told me about this game he'd created. I called it back then that it would the most popular CCG in the history of the universe. So, yeah... __________________ 2010 Homer Simpson Award Winnerhttp://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/016901.html

I dunno man, people were dissin' it pretty bad when it was spoiled. Saying it was the worst of the swords and crap. I had to get mine counseling just so it would function properly.

Its not hard to see the hawk being powerful, but is it really stupid good without the other cards in the deck? I think not. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Uhhhh.... I said bm>ff =[ I hate Feast and Famine. But also, i never liked Body and Mind much either.Squawk itself really isn't format breaking, you don't have to worry about if they have one in hand or not. Aside from a U/W control deck protecting it and having the swords.... Is it really a force to be reckoned with? Not that i really needed to point that out. But this whole Squadron Hawk thing is more like novelty, a temporary craze. A signed foil one shouldn't be worth 30 dollars to anyone.... __________________ If you can make/print proxies, i will trade for them. Also looking for Microprose MTG computer game. Will trade for that or consider buying for cheap. Please pm

I found this to be interesting. New trading guidelines for european GP's...Trading Although trading is both allowed and encouraged, please note that the following things are not permitted at this event: * Buying/selling cards with anyone except for our authorized dealer(s) * Soliciting to buy/sell cards elsewhere * Advertising without receiving permission from Wizards of the Coast’s on-site Event Manager * Utilizing an excessive amount of space when trading * Using suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock.
Please note that failure to obey these rules may result in all involved parties being both removed from the event without refund, and banned from attending future events.

18 lands, 3 Copper Myr, 1 Silver Myr and 3 other two-drops, 8 3-drops and I get mana screwed three games out of 5 in an online draft. (Stuck on two lands and miss land drops for 5 turns.)I'm keeping hands like (after taking a mulligan): Forest Swamp Cystbearer Contagious Nim Contagious Nim Ichor Rats Draw 5-drop Draw equipment Draw 3-drop Draw Virulent Wound
LOSE. I know it happens and that's randomness and shuffling, blah, blah, blah, but... SO frustrating. Should have played a 19th land instead of that 5-drop and I'd have won that match.

Like you some infect, huh? Do you play much else? It really seems pretty solid this set. At my fnm, no one ever picks up infect. A simple 12 year old beat a lot of ass with infect once. Aside from a few strays like the white Priests/Shrike and Blightwidows elsewhere i think he picked up every infect body. Seriously, must have had like 22 bodies >.> __________________ If you can make/print proxies, i will trade for them. Also looking for Microprose MTG computer game. I've had similar experiences, maybe Wiz programmed the shuffler to hate infect decks, lol

I probably play Infect 70% of the time, W/r aggro 20% of the time, and *other* 10% of the time. I think it's really solid, provided that it's open. I think it gives you the best chance to win the draft, but things can also go very wrong and you lose 0-2 because you just don't have enough guys. If it's not open, you really need to take a cue from the guy from your right that you should be drafting something else. I've had drafts where I'll P1P1 take Spread the Sickness, then take Leonin Skyhunter, Divine Offering, Leonin Skyhunter, Kuldotha Ringleader, Divine Offering, Piston Sledge, and be just fine that I never see more than one infect creature the first pack. Because Infect is such a tempo deck, you notice bad hand moreso than in other strategies. If I play Leonin Skyhunter turn 4 instead of turn 2 or 3, it's still got a good chance of getting in there for 6 damage and helping me win. If I play a Contagious Nim on turn 6, unless I had turn three, four, and five with creatures and removal every turn, a 2/2 is going to get outclassed very quickly, even if my opponent plays subpar 2/4 guys for 4 mana. I think lots of people really shy away from Infect because it's also possible that if it's overdrafted, you end up with an awful deck. I have more success with it than any other archetype, though and my friends are pretty sick of me drafting Infect all the time. When I draft online, if someone's watching over my shoulder, they often will comment: "Oh, Virulent Wound. Big surprise. Then a Blightwidow? Why not. Rot Wolf, okay. Phyrexian Digester... are you SURE you draft non-infect decks?" "I just went 3-0 with a W/r deck yesterday." "If you say so. I don't believe it." "You don't think I went 3-0?" "Oh, I believe that part. I just think it was really with a deck with a dozen Infect creatures, some pump spells and removal."
