I think the one standing up on the right is in a black sleeve (based on the bottom right corner where it you can see a color difference + what appears to be an Ultrapro holo at the bottom)

Ah, I see the logo now. You are right. Well, it seems incredibly unlikely that they're real, but you never know.__________________ Ebay problems? File a claim, leave a neg, buy on MOTL.

Yeah, I agree. The Jaces look weird, too. Jace #1's borders and corners look bad. Jace #3 appears to be curling unnaturally, like it's thin card stock.

All the Jaces appear to have at least one square corner, too. __________________ 2010 Homer Simpson Award Winnerhttp://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/016901.html

The one standing up on the left looks really strange. The picture looks fine at the bottom, then seems to warp toward the top. The borders at the top are all out of whack, but OK at the bottom. Could be an optical illusion?

Also, I find it odd that the filename for that picture is betaseas.jpg. I don't see any Seas in there.

Yea, the jaces are all wrong. Square corners, alpha corners, curling. They look like they've just been printed on paper and he's in the process of faking them too. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? LOL, oops. That was my fault. I mislabeled it when I saved the pic he sent. Original file name was "2011-01-07 01.50.33.jpg"

If you are playing blue, you play Jace, if not you don't care about Jace. Reprinting him will help WOTC sell a lot of M12.
they printed cards better then baneslayer to force diversity. They also printed baneslayer specific answers such as plummet and combust. Jace isn't being splashed into random decks, but hes just having a lot of decks built around him. Not much difference I'd say.

When Tarmo was in Type 2, all the decks were splashing green to put him in. It is a huge difference. All the top decks were playing Tarmo, not the case with Jace. They will put new cards in M12 that people will chase too. What's to say that won't print more answers to planeswalkers in M12 also? IMO, Tarmo won't be reprinted. I'm betting Jace TMS will at some point. It would be good for the base set to see new planeswalkers. Outside of Garruk, they are too weak. Gideon, Jace 2.0, Sorin and a playable Chandra 3.0 would be great with answers in most if not all colors.

Grapeshot Storm looks kinda fun. Is there a dominant deck in Pauper?

I believe Grapeshot Storm is the dominant deck. Though it usually loses to Familiar storm, which has become the most common deck in the last week.

I would have a difficult time seeing answers better then whats currently available. The typical solution to walkers it to play aggressive creatures and/or burn. Jace is better then those two strategies. There is also hexmage, but he'll be rotating the time jace 2.0 does. Have you not built a standard deck and asked how you could fit jace in? I know I have.

So I'm going to a sealed tournament tomorrow. It will be 3 packs Scars and 3 packs Besieged. I know its sealed, and therefore pretty random, but does anyone have any suggestions or tips? Ummm... stand by B.R.E.A.D? Which shouldn't be too hard, since pretty much every Scars rare is a bomb. __________________ "Where free unions and collective bargaining are forbidden, freedom is lost." -- Ronald Reagan

MeddlingMage, read page one of this thread. Here's what I said earlier: quote: Originally posted by yakusoku:
1) Play your bombs, even if you have to splash a third color. Your sealed deck will be better for it. Pay attention to 6-drops in the format. That's the magic number. Volition Reins, Steel Hellkite, Contagion Engine, Fangren Marauder (I think he's super in sealed, I question whether he's first pick material in draft, though), etc. 2) It's a slower format, but don't go overboard and have no plays during the first three turns. 3) The value of Infect goes way down, because in draft you can depend on others shipping Infect your way and you get the benefit of the Infect cards from three or more people. In sealed, you only have your cards. Evasion, on the other hand, is really good. 4) Play with your removal, obviously, but you also want to stuff your deck with creatures. Some go so far as to suggest that playing with 18 lands is absolutely wrong in this format since it means one less creature than a deck with only 17 lands. I think that may be valid, but the bigger issue is playing with too many non-creature spells.
Tomorrow I'm also going to play in a sealed event (MTGO Season 3 championship tournament). I get free product no matter how poorly I do, but I'd like to finish in the top 32 and get something beyond just what I open.

Ya that's what i thought too. Most cellphone cameras take better pictures than that up close. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Played Ali's Grand Architect deck at FNM tonight. Opponent in the finals Mark of Mutiny my Wurmcoil Engine and attacked putting me to 7 health, him at 11. After combat I use Contagion Engine to proliferate the Wurmcoil putting it at 9/9. Adding 1 counter each to my 2x Tumble Magnet. On my turn I use both tumble magnets to tap his 2x blockers. Proliferate my Wurmcoil to 11/11. Attack for the win Never actually won a game proliferating a Wurmcoil before it was pretty hilarious.

fit as many creatures in your deck as you can. Only play high quality tricks. If you have to choose a mediocre creature is far better then the same type of trick. If you think you have an infect pool, just count your infect creatures. Anything under ~10 (tho I like in the 15 range) is likely not good enough in the sealed environment. Try hard not to mix and match infect. You can get there if you do, but you have to work way harder for it. Also, keep a very close eye on your mana curve. A random 2/1 for 2 mana can be the difference between winning and losing vs those fast poison decks. also, fresh off the feedback from some drafts I just lost: Don't let your opponents open sword of feast and famine, its bad for you. Same goes for mind and body, especially foil ones.
