well I got about 2 hours befor I decide if I wanna go to the prerelease or not.
seems kinda like a waste of money tho. $30 for a few packs and a bad promoI could just get a fat pack.. hmmm

My pool was subpar, although Spellskite was pretty strong for me. My deck leaned very heavily on the stuff from Scars though and let's just say it wasn't enough to get there. Worst I've done at a pre in awhile. Is there really much of value in this set anyway? A few cards are pre-selling high, but I really don't see many of the mythics holding a $10+ price tag. Karn and the sword, and Karn mainly just because he's a Planeswalker. Obliterator is too narrow to see play outside of one deck and I think Batterskull just got hyped too much. Any deck that would actually run it will just have it as a one of. All the Praetors are cool EDH cards...but so is Geth and he's like a $1 mythic now. The red one is the only one possibly even viable for constructed, and that's probably a big maybe. Basically, your chances of opening anything worth money is this set is pretty slim to begin with. If I'd actually opened anything of value, I probably would be shipping it right away. __________________

you are right about the value... i kinda quit playing limited after the last set because it was so bad. still not sure if i want to drop by for the prerelease later today... there are couple of collectors cards i want (angel/dragon) and i could get them for maybe 1/3 of the prereelase cost... hmmm

It's just you. NBS is a hundred times better than BSS. If it wasn't for stupidly unfair cards like Hoard-Smelter then it would be as good as TPF or RGD now. With New Phyrexia there's way more deck types possible, and certain archetypes like BG poison aren't quite as unfair.

A friend of mine went and finished first with a bad pool..... too bad I couldn't be there (overslept lol :P). It was only newbs ://He won a lot of games with that green artifact creature that gains trample if you pay G or PH... can't remember the name :P

I went 1st with BU, pulled Black Chancellor and Preator, as well as a nim deathmantle and alot of Sac for Effect guys, oddly enough killed more often then not with Infect, using the 1/4 flying pay 3U: Proliferate drake, that thing won so many games...lolGot 8 packs, pulled a Karn, traded it for 2x Mox Opals, and 2x Foil Phyrexian Revoker, so I was pleased. __________________

Pulled a Batterskull, Surgical Extraction and foil Birthing Pod, went B/G. Finished and split in top 4, came away with 14 packs, pulled a Karn out of those. Pretty solid day, I would say...

Sensor Splicer The one round I lost, I drew 14/18 lands in one game, had to mulligan to 6 twice, and faced my friend who opened Sword of Protection from yakusoku (aka Sword of War and Peace - being protection from my colors is really good). He ended up 2-2.

Ended up going 4-2 which put me at the top of the 4-2's which was good enough for 4th place.Got a decent pool ended up playing 4 of 6 rares in a R/W kinda aggro deck. Played the rares listed below
Karn
Argentum Armor
Phyrexian Metamorph
True Conviction Got 6 packs for my trouble, and traded a Koth for a Obliterator so all in all day was good.

My pool was really good. I went 4-1. I lost in round 2 to the guy that finished second (I was third). I almost had him game 1 after he Life's Finale'd me and pulled my Spinebiter, Skinrender, and my Phyrexian Swarmlord. I had ample time to pull it off, but kept whiffing (I wasn't looking for a creature). In round 5 game 2, I oopsed my opp with Spinebiter and Untamed Might for 10, forcing game three. He got stalled by my Death-hood Cobra with Bladed Pinions-- the only equipment I opened, and it was over when I finally stuck the Swarmlord for the first time all day. I'd never drawn him when it mattered.My rares:

Chancellor of the Dross
Phyrexian Swarmlord
Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur I was worried because I only had 10 infect dudes, so I tried to make all my other guys some form of removal. Skinrender, Sylvok Replica, Death-hood Cobra, Molten-tail, and Darksteel Sentinel. I didn't run Chancellor, and that was probably a mistake. But I went 4-1 anyway. __________________

Did a sealed event, went 3-2, most because I am greedy and awful. Had a Phyrexian Obliterator and wanted to play it, so my mana base was bleh. Ended up trading it for a foil Mental Misstep, though, so that was nice.Also did a triple NPH deck, destroyed everyone with a Rage Extractor deck. No one was happy losing to that card, I had the time of my life.

Damn, I had the best sealed of the room, probably, and I managed to loose.Basically I had 17 removals, and couldn't handle karn excepted blasting him for 4+5. I lost once to karn removing my board, twice decked out because I had to handle karn. Conceded another to a guy who opened karn + venser (Dammnit). Won all the other games. So finally, a good (Great!) sealed deck, but finishing 2-2.

Opened an okayish pool, but had to choose between either G/W aggro infect with no removal aside from 2 blinding souleaters or G/W/b with Grim Affliction, instill Infection, and Parasitic Implant. Went 1-1 and then had to leave to get home and help Dad with the landscaping  But I opened Elesh Norn, Melira, and Phyrexian Unlife in my sealed pool so it's all good  can't wait to actually play the invincibility combo of Melira + Unlife... __________________

I opened an OK pool with a sword, which I drew once all night (and managed to lose that game with my opponent at 2). I played GBu (splashed for a couple fliers). I went 4-1-1 (ID'ed last round, lost to guy who got first with an INSANE pool) in the swiss and we split the top 8.

Lucky run today. Opened a Karn in the sealed pool, went 3-0-1 and came in second, then opened another Karn. __________________

Weird, I had no idea that you played at my local shop!  I lost round one to that exact same trio of cards due to only having a single answer to Unlife, with a side of Skinskite and a couple ways to recur him to really wreck my day. Won the other two rounds, and thanks to the quirks of having one person join and immediately drop because they were working and just wanted the cards and promo and round 2 having 2 of the three matches end in draws, my 2-1 was good enough for 3rd out of 8. Pretty mediocre card pool, with Vorinclex and the r/w legend that beefs up everyone with metalcraft were about the best ones I had, with a couple Suture Priests to keep me rolling. Thanks to the small number of players and a decent finish, I walked away with about 10 prize packs, and pulled a Sword, Elesh Norn and another Vorinclex. Not too bad! __________________
