I am new to MTGO and I am looking to trade real cards for online cards. What is the best way to go about that?I don't know that the trade matcher can handle it correctly. Thanks for any advice! Tim

Had my best Pre, 1st pack I pulled a Foil Karn! then the 3rd pack I got a foil Misstep, I ended up making a Myr deck with Tempered Steel, and powering out my Karn, or Platimun Emperion, I even exiled my Platimun in the finals with Karn to win me the game, LOL. didn't have much removal but had 1 Tumble Manget, and 2 Blinding Souleater (which is a beast), ended up going 6-0, and getting 18 packs, which I got another Karn, a 2nd foil Misstep, and a foil Melira, Sylvok Outcast. 4th place got a Foil Sword in his prize packs, boxes were great overall.

Are pre-release boxes normally more loaded than usual? To make sure players buy more?

A sale I made and allowed the member $1 shipping in a white envelope without tracking just bit me in the rear. Says it never showed up, and I didnt make them accept responsibility in an email. oops. Lesson learned.

I got a lucky break; I was searching for Virtue's Ruins; hoping to get one; found two on TCGplayer from some place called Cape Fear Games; unplayed 1.92 each. Snapped them for a total of 7.00 after shipping now i have my 3 for sideboard in monoblack modified-suicide; yea! Kill them white creatures dead! Now I just have to wait for the Perish/Nature's Ruin in the mail, and I'm going to go trash my friends zoo deck that I think has far to much money spent on it. I'm also hoping to eventually get an altered Virtue's Ruin...but can't afford it at the moment.

It's amazing how many people (a lot of them new it seems, not that I've been here long myself) seem to just expect you to give them money.

Its easier to win on trades by not saying that. I'm seriously sick of the SCG traders that exist in this world who just pull up SCG on their Smartphones every time someone is trying to make a trade.

Or looking at buy lists and guys are thinking that they can offer the same as Star City and they will get sellers. I think that most people on here would pay those prices and make money flipping the cards on Ebay.

I agree you can abuse the fact but when you are making a trade and they are constantly pausing to look up cards it gets irritating. If you don't know or have a value for your trade stock don't trade them. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

I don't agree with this at all. Sorry, but I can't have the values for every card in my trade binder memorized. It only takes a few seconds for me to check my phone. When trading on this site, people use online guides. Why should trading in person be any different?

Sure but you've got to have some idea what your cards are worth and what the ones you want to trade for are worth. Looking up every card is annoying.

Yeah but stuff can move and change pretty fast these days so I don't blame people for looking.

Hey everyone, I think I am going to give magic one last shot this saturday (a Legacy tournament, that will be major).Since I haven't followed the format for some years, anyone care to tell me how the format evolved? A quick look at The Source suggests that some of the past decks are still there. How will a deck, say Landstill (that's what I used to play...) will be? Also, anyone know of any shop in Montreal that sells Perfect fit plastic for card? ty Robert edit : How do you guys do to memorize the card value when trading in person? I don't own any smart phone :S

Landstill's a horrible choice now. Some top decks being played (not necessarily Tier 1) are Dredge, Merfolk, Goblins, Countertop, Junk, Natural Order-Bant, Storm (both ANT and TES). This is by no means a comprehensive list; other people feel free to add to it!
