I just received something from them earlier this week. What is LSV card? I got something with my order, but just curious as to what you are talking about. ~MM __________________ I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion, 2007 Captain N award winner, 2010 Marlboro award winner, and 2011 Champion Tournament Pick'em MOTL NCAA Bracket Challenge winner! I think he's talking about the Luis Scot-Vargas (sp.?) pro player card. They were inserted into packs a couple of years ago, kinda like mtg Baseball cards, or Chocolate Frog cards for the Potterheads.

Matt was horribly rude and only willing to "work things out" when he got called on his horrible business practices, as can be seen the multiple BTAs against him in the past year. Add in the fact that he was extremely pushy and argumentative if you weren't willing to sell him cards for 25% below market value and you can see why I'm sure many people believe MOTL is a better place without him.

I agree that it's a better place without him, and I'm not saying he's a good trader (though I'm not really sure why it matters if he isn't willing to buy at market value; just ignore those kinds of offers?); I'm merely pointing out that Eric Horn had a far worse attitude than Matt, as he argued with mods and others during his BTAs rather than resolving the BTA itself. Neither belong on MOTL, but Eric was far worse.

He is actually talking about some sort of token that has a cartoon version of LSV with Ancestral Recall background on the front and and Channelfireball logo on the back they are sending out now in orders. The ones I got from my pre orders have Conley Woods in the Bazaar of Baghdad holding half of his jacket open with Acidic Slimes and Abyssal Persecutors on the inside

They give away the LSV tokens at GPs and so forth. I haven't seen the Conley ones.

assuming you have unlimited email storage, I typically just throw the last email confirming the trade into a folder which should have all the previous messages in that last email. I can go back and see if I've traded with someone before, if a BTA comes up and info is needed i might have it, and I can just reflect back on some crazy values from back in the day. how about this old one:
My: 11 fbb duals I listed 3x Foil powder Keg RV undergournd Sea RV Tundra RV Badlands For your: Time Walk Mox Emerald US Foil Island Well I value the fbb duals at $15 each (the cheapest I can get them for), the kegs at $12, of $225. I do value the UL walk at $120 and the mox at $100, but with the condition of your P9 cards I really don't want to be giving up that much more for them. In the condition your P9 are in I value the walk at $100 or lower (especially with the two scratches on the back) and the mox about $90, and the foil us island at $4 thats right, foil powder keg and FBB dual lands were about equal. 7 FBB duals per UNL mox. Good times.

If possible, save it. I still get emails from people checking out the references for people I had traded with in the past, so having the details available makes it much easier. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! I know the Creative Team is the ones at WotC that make the planes and background story/plot for a given set. Will Innistrad have a book/storyline associated with it that Creative writes? If so, where would be a place to find it? __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [207] in OH-IO (25 behind helper monkey) 2nd in Posts [6224] in OH-IO (only 1800 behind Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

another trade question... if you trade twice with someone do you only get them as a ref once or is there a way to get another ref point out of the second trade...

Just 1 ref. There is however an option where you can add comments to reflect that you have traded multiple times with someone. ~MM __________________ I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion, 2007 Captain N award winner, 2010 Marlboro award winner, and 2011 Champion Tournament Pick'em MOTL NCAA Bracket Challenge winner! Story Time!Last night (Wednesday) is draft night! The format is INN-INN-INN, and I'm not gonna lie - I had one of the best decks at the table. Now, my pod was 7 people - 3 good players, 1 decent player, and 3 bad players. My deck was bomb-tastic and removal heavy, so I found myself fighting for the top prize in round 3 (We only play 3 rounds of swiss, so I was 2-0). I end up losing the match 1-2, and end up 3rd due to breaks. Who placed above me? The worst deck imaginable. It was UW mill, with the only mill cards being those blue curses that mill 2 or 3 each time. She had one bye, defeated the absolute worst player in the pod, and lost round 1 to my opponent that I beat round 2. She got 2nd due to breaks and the bye. Not gonna lie, I was upset when this terrible (and annoying) player got more packs due to luck. My final record for games was 6-2. I earned 2nd place, why should someone with a bye and only win over the WORST player place ahead of me? Urg, I'm just so ****ed about it... This is the only time I wish we did Single Elim...

Yes, you can ignore those offers...but Matt did not handle that rejection well. He would basically pester you and call you an idiot for thinking differently about card values than he did. At least, that's what he did everytime I rejected one of his low-ball offers. Not going to touch whether he was better/worse than Horn. I didn't pay much attention to those BTA threads. Might have to go look them up though. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air! I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Just play better Sounds a bit rude, but it's how I look at things when I lose, and it'll go a long ways. Also, I would suggest ID'ing the last round if packs is what you are looking for. It's better to draw and split prize, than to play out and go for the gold. The player that loses gets 3rd a lot more often than you would think.

Hey guys with all the current talks about the state of standard I figure I'll post a link to my blog where I did a bit of a metagame analysis based on States / Provincials results. Shows how many of each deck made T8 / 1st and breaks it down a little.http://donttrainmyorgg.blogspot.com Also! I just shipped a small bubble mailer from Canada to Singapore registed / insured and it cost me $43!! What the heck Canadian mail system??? That was the CHEAPEST I could use to get insurance / tracking, so I didn't even have any other choice! Ended up losing $$ on the deal because of how much it cost to ship :S... __________________ The mana pool has all the answers... especially 'no'. Check out my MTG Blog! (I'm being serious and not trying to sound like a dick, but the truth is the truth)But she's fat! And not even really that attractive! Whatever, at least I crushed her in the "for fun" games we played after the prizes were given out.

I have nothing against you personally, AlmostGrown, but the attitude expressed in your post towards women, people who are overweight, and fat women in particular is pretty sickening. A woman's role is not to be attractive or skinny; women are people, nothing more and nothing less. Nobody deserves their victories any more or less because of their sex or body type. Hell, odds are you're no Brad Pitt yourself. So maybe you should have a think the next time you catch yourself judging a person's worth based on their looks. That may not be your general attitude, but it's the attitude expressed in that post, and I find that post pretty awful. Homophobia, racism, and other derogatory language isn't tolerated on MOTL; I find it very sad that sexism and stigma against the overweight--on a Magic site no less!--is tolerated.

Speaking of fat people... does anybody know what happened to the thread Malice put up some months ago? It had something to do with teaching others how to eat healthier and do exercise. but I can't quite remember if anyone reached their goal or not. I hope so, and am really interested in knowing. EDIT: typos

I'm not sore that I lost in round 3 - we played 3 good games and he deserved to win. I'm sore that someone who is terrible did better than me. @Goaswerfraiejen: I never said nor claimed she did not deserve to win because of body type or sex; I said she did not deserve to place higher than me because she beat people who did the worst AND she got a bye. She and her boyfriend played FNM at the store I used to go to - when I first started, I wasn't that great, like many people who first start. So they berated me and teased me, and for a while I was ok with it because I thought it was in good humor. Except after 3 years one starts to get sick of it, and when it continues even after you've broken off all contact with them and they randomly see you one night at a draft, I'm going to be (hopefully) understandably ****ed that they're still trash talking me for no reason other than that I was bad when I first started playing magic. Not only would they berate me for being "bad" at magic, they would often question my sexuality (I'm straight btw) due to my lack of a girlfriend. This didn't help the fact that I had just transitioned from Middle school to High school and had multiple body image problems in 7th and 8th grade, and was bullied on top of that. I played Magic as a way to escape the school life and peer pressure, but of course it somehow found it's way into my personal, favorite hobby. I started playing Magic in 9th grade (Freshmen year of high school) and didn't have a real girlfriend until my Junior year, which was the same time I stopped going to that store, so of course they wouldn't know anything about that. I guess nobody here really knows all the intricacies of our interactions, so I understand your post and where you're coming from. I am not homophobic, racist, nor sexist but I understand that my post made it appear as if I were sexist. I do my best to treat everyone the same when I play and when I trade - what you are does not matter to me, it's who you are that counts. I also think that you read a little to much into the sexism and "stigma against the overweight" thing too. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny either. My brother is fighting obesity due to depression, so I'm no stranger to the effects obesity has on the person and family involved. So believe me when I say that my previous post was out of anger and jealousy because of the way the tiebreakers were, not because I hate women or the obese.

In that case, get used to it. I am always screwed by tie breaks, and I shrug it off all the time. It is just not worth it to let small things like these get to you. __________________ MOTL Fantasy NBA 2010 Champion "Hello, 911? It’s Quagmire.
