the standard, zero. Packs aren't worth opening. I'm sure I'll do a bunch of sealed and draft events though, cause limited is pure awesome.

I just pre-ordered 2, going to buy another from the local store as well. Innistrad had a ton of cards that I really enjoyed, especially for my EDH deck (Ghave). Looking forward to more of the same in Dark Ascension. New Sorin is gonna be sweet.

I will probably order somewhere around 6-15 booster boxes depending on demand for the new set. While I do not have a store anywhere near as big as some people's, I really am just opening the boxes to resell the cards as singles, so that is effectively a $500-$1200 gamble for me.

0 too. I'm not pre-ordering any boxes without knowing what cards are in the set yet.

Depends, if there is anything that looks like legacy gold i might buy a box up to 6.If not i will buy 0 and just draft. Considering its going to be the least opened set in drafts this year the cards may be worth more then usual in the long run. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

Gravecrawler looks like a good start in zombies, perhaps it will be competitive. Could chalice of life see play in martyr-proc? Also undying looks like a house ability. As for things i would like to see in Dark Ascension: perhaps olivia finally completes her sex change operation

Its odd. I like the flavor. Something like zombie apocalypse is awesome when it comes to flavor, but it doesn't make me want to play the card or buy more of the set.

Gotta love the flavor, but can't see myself buying any boxes based on the spoiled cards alone yet.Wondering what the flip artifact (?equipment) is.

Gather the Townsfolk seems pretty good in draft.

It's only the first day. A grand total of 15 cards (10%) and that's with a massive reveal of mechanics and promos. I'm sure they don't want to blow their buildup by giving away the farm up front.

It's only OK. In a lot of other formats it would be a bomb, but turns out with Brimstone Volley as a common 5 isn't the number you want to be at. If it was an instant it would be slightly better than Raise the Alarm was, which was a decent card, with it's second ability pushing into good/great. Some of the slower formats would love this card, because you could lock the board up at 5 and be safe, but like I said with Volley making it's way into a lot of decks because it's so easily splashable and devestating 5 or less is NOT what you want to sit at. If it was an instant like RTA was and you could pick off creatures in combat with it it would be great, but it's not.

Drogskul Reaver 5wu Creature - Spirit Mythic Rare Flying, doublestrike, lifelink Whenever you gain life, draw a card. Wracked and warped with anguish, it obsessively seeks out other souls to horde within its eternal prison. Illus. Vincent Proce #137/158 3/5This Card seems fun for EDH, but could backfire when someone Mills you out. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

If this set is mostly flavor and then Sorin, I may be selling my Comp boxes instead of cracking them >_<

So yeah...new Sorin...nasty.Can anyone say Splash Black in Township Tokens? Hell just make Tokens Black/White, with Increasing Devotion, Gather Townsfolk, and removal. Even Thraben may be worth running in a two-of. As for Burning Vengeance, this deck will get better and be tough to beat. Humans so far has gotten worse, as Zombie Apocalypse can be pretty nasty. Almost makes Zombies worth trying out. I think so far not enough has been said of Undying - that ability is pretty nuts.
And so far the art is still pretty awesome. Love the flavor of a card like Loyal Cathar. __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [227] in OH-IO (5 behind helper monkey) 2nd in Posts [6555] in OH-IO (only 1600 behind Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

I suspect he will see play over many formats, he is just that good. Love how they are still pushing Flash Back, so look forward to Burning Vengeance.dec __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

I could have sworn Wotc said we wouldnt see the words "Destroy Target Planeswalker". Hrmmmm.Other than that, Sorin looks fairly good. He's 4 mana, his starting loyalty is fine, his +1 is better than Elspeth, Knight Errants, and his -6 is brutal. Beats Jace TMS in a heads-up fight :P __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? Perfect way to describe Sorin.DERP DERP DERP. Pick up playsets now You guys are thinking too small. B/W? How about the U/W deck that splashes black for doomblade/alchemy? This? Omg. And it's perfect casted. It's not 1BBW or 1WWB. It's 2WB. And it comes into play with a 1/1 with a 4 loyalty just wow.

The new Sorin is good, but his ult has to say nonland permanents. Without that Jace still beats him. He doesn't nothing against like a control or combo deck while jace still feeds you cards or controls someones draw. This Sorin is good though.

Doesn't he just keep putting threats into play against control decks?
