Good thing my LGS doesn't check card prices daily, now I didn't have to miss the boat on Huntmaster

Sword, Elesh-Norn, Karn, Batterskull, Obilterator are all worth $10+ or about that. Gin-gitaxias is worth a decent amount, the other preators sell at afew bucks, and all the uncommons will help the value of the box. Melira is a card you can sell for a couple of bucks. If you are paying more than $80 for the box it's really hard to make back all the money unless you hit Sword. Other than that you are looking at $50-70 in a box value wise. You can always go lower though if you open a really bad box. I've seen boxes opened with 0 of any of the 3 big money uncommons. I myself went through an entire box(using packs for drafting) and came across only 1 Dismember, and 0 Mental Missteps in it. If you have an unopened box.....you're probably better off selling it as an unopened box.

I'll probably end up trading the one I got for Cube foils or legacy cards. __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 11000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 13th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

During day 1 of the PT I noticed that a lot of big named pros had 4x of in their deck....so I went off to Ebay and bought me a playset. I paid about $40 total with shipped for my playset.
Magic is bascially the stock market.

I would have done that but I was flat broke. I tried trading for them but was only able to get one that way.

Thanks everyone for the responses about the box. I don't want to directly lose money, e.g. buy a box for $80 to open for $60 worth of stuff, but since I already got one cheap, I'm willing to open it for $60 worth of stuff instead of selling for higher. I hadn't opened boxes since something like Odyssey or Onslaught, so I figured it might be worth opening one for fun if there's at least a relatively decent chance of getting most of my money back via singles. I know it's obviously a gamble, but that's part of the fun if I know I'm not going to lose THAT much even in the worst case pulling crappy mythics (since there are enough decent rares & even a few nice uncommons in the set), and in the best case I might pull a foil SoWaP or something cool and feel all lucky (until I realize it's only like $50 and I'd rather win a $250mil lottery, but that's okay).

I don't understand why people don't send in toploaders. I just received a purchase from a member of MTGS and the card was packaged in between a folding piece of cardboard. Well, it arrived with a bend down the entire right side of the card from getting caught in the fold of the cardboard. So now what was a $2.50 transaction has turned into an unneeded hassle. Ugh!__________________ 2010 Homer Simpson Award Winnerhttp://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/016901.html

if I'm insanely lucky I'll break even... and I paid $85 on the box. Kinda sad. I hope yours goes better. I didn't even get any fun foils for EDH or some such. I was supposed to be getting innistrad korean but the distributor ended up being stupid and not having it even though they said they did. I settled for dark ascension even though I knew better ><

Random question: Is it too much to ask people to waive liability if you're providing a cheapie option (I.E: I'm doing 1 dollar in a PWE and 3 dollars with a bubble mailer with DC)?EDIT: Now they're saying they can get a flooded strand at a BIN of 27 dollars on eBay. The cheapest one I see is 33 dollars...

No, it isn't. Many people will be happy to waive liability. If they don't, require the $3 option.

if you do not pay for DC I require it before I will ship. Often I've had to ask multiple times before people will give me a statement that would stand in a BTA. Its annoying and I don't feel great about doing it, especially when I have to ask multiple times, but I also feel I have to protect myself when the buyer doesn't want to pay for any DC. I hope I never need the statement to absolve me or responsibility, but its good to know its there in case the postal system does screw up.

I never give the option for pwe or no dc. Just not worth the hassle of a less up.

LOL. Just saw a poster actually asking the seller to see if he was asking $21 each for his Snapcaster Mage, or it's $21 a set.

He was looking to get a good deal! But seriously, when people are new on here, they always seem to think they can outsmart, outwit and lowball the MOTL community. This is when we have Coolio to put them in their place =) ...although I hardly ever see him post anymore. But I digress.

Well, he wasn't a brand new member. He has over 70 refs.

Who would buy a $700 turd sandwich? I said this card was trash, I said it wouldnt make one top 8 deck at the pro tour.....man I hate being right all the time. Hopefully people sold theirs well ahead of time. I see SCG has dropped their price on them considerably. EDIT: Dear god....I can't wait to see how much a Foil Korean Huntmaster tries to be sold at.
